Default Sparco Ultra experiences?

Anyone used this seat or heard anything about it? It is $200+ cheaper than an Evo which makes it seem pretty tempting.

Thanks
Ben

Unless you are "JDM-Sized" you wont fit too well in it.

The side bolsters are also very short, you sit more "on" the seat than in it, like you do with a rev, pro2000 or evo/evo2.

Hrmm, I don't know about that, I think any moderately sized person will fit these seats (like 36" waisted and below person). I certainly sit "in" mine as do most folks. Now if you sit ON the bolsters then yes, you are probably more sitting ON the seat vs. in it. Nothing outside of an Ultra II, Evo II should correct that. Feel some "your mama's so fat" jokes coming to this thread

on me...

ultra != sprint... thats the one i was thinking of.

Yeah, 36" waist and i fit pretty reasonably in an Ultra. And that was 20 lbs ago.

you're momma's so fat that when she hauls ***, she's gotta make two trips!

i love the ultra in the race car....but daily driving with it leaves my back sore in spots....

racing it is better than my sprint....

i am 6'3 190lb and i fit fine....

just my opinion

Buying a racing seat is like buying a helmet, you should try it on before you buy it.

I'd like to sit in an ultra to compare it to the evo/evo2.

currently i'm in love with the evo2. Every time I sit in its just perfect and even got to drive a car with one this weekend. Now I just have to wait for the 04 rulebook for auto-x comes out to see if I can buy one.

Hmm...sore spots on your back? Did you get these with any other seat?
This is going to be a One Lap of America car, so I need something that will treat me and my other driver right for 6000 miles over 8 days, plus the track lapping on top of that.

Thanks for the replies

if you're going to be spending this much time in the seat, do yourself a big favor and go try the seats at a local shop, a friend's race car, whatever. I sat in about 6 or 7 seats before I decided that the Pro2000 fit me best. I did not really like the fit of the Ultra, personally. I am 5"7, 150lb.

I did a few runs and some commuting in a friends MR2 with an Ultra and I found it a lot more comfortable than I was expecting. 5'8", 145lbs, stock belts. I don't really have a lot of aftermarket seat time to compare them to though.

Ultras =

Had mine for two years now and they are excellent! The driver side seat is just finally showing wear around the leg and waist area, a bit also on the seatbelt area too, since I use mine for daily driving also.

They havent faded from sun either which is cool, since they were a too-bright-blue to start out with... I'm glad they didnt fade and get uglier

In the past two years Ive been 5'8" and anywhere from 170-195 pounds and 34 to 36" waist, and I love the way the seats fit me. My passengers always hate getting into them but usualyl like the fit and comfiness around town even if the girls complain of the seats being kinda uncomfy since they do not recline and dont have too much butt padding. I highly recommend these seats, I think they rock, and they are LIGHT! at just over 12 pounds each, plus with the bottom mounting you can save bucks and make mount brackets yourself for the stock sliders.. see the link in my sig........

Thanks Owen, I think I might be sold on these. I can't find a place in the NYC area that stocks these, so I'll put up with a re-stocking fee if they don't work out.

Thanks again to all
