Default Shift **** Ergonomics and Ease of Use

My current setup! You may need to fiddle with the link to get it to show! http://www.geocities.com/drumsy99/Integra17.jpg
I'm in the market for a more compatible shift **** that is comfortable and allows ease when shifting. The car will be a daily-driver, auto-x on weekends. What are your current setups and suggestions?

Actually I do have a suggestion. Make sure you get something you can grip properly.

I've got a tiny little Momo aluminum ball. Granted it looks "hella tight," but when driving it's really not that good. I don't like driving with gloves on. So in the summer months when I'm sweating in the non-air-conditioned black POS, I have to concentrate on grabbing the **** securely and making a clean shift.

I'm with George - the stock **** is actually pretty good. Had I not thrown mine away it'd be back on the car.

I find the sphere to be the best shape for me...I wouldn't choose anything else. Just got a B&M ball shifter for my truck and its way better than stock. And yes, I do drive with gloves most of the time - gloves are great for secure grip on the steering wheel and fast shifting of the tranny. I'm looking at getting a B&M pro shifter and ball (or Hurst Black 5 speed ball if I can find one that fits) for the Integra.

I really like the Momo short anatomico **** that I have. It's leather, so grip is not an issue, even with sweaty hands, and the shape is nice. It also looks quite "stockish", as in I think it's the **** they should have supplied with the car.

picture from GeeSeR web site. It really doesn't do it justice, IMO - and the shift boot does come all the way up to the ****. Anyway, just one more opinion...

I made mine out of stone. It's a teardrop shape kind of, pretty small/thin. I couldn't stand the stock **** on the base prelude.

I have the Momo Anatomico short **** like SJR has on his car. I agree, I like it much better that the stock ****. Your fingers don't slip off it, and you can get a quick sure grip on it by palming it or trigger-gripping it. Any way your hand flops on it, it'll pretty much just stick to it and you won't come off. Works for me! 2nd that on the lowkey appearance.

I had a DC Sports aluminum **** on my integra. I kinda liked it. It was awfully cold on winter mornings, though, and got pretty warm from the exhaust heat going up through the aluminum shifter (aftermarket) and through the ****. Nothing unbearable, though.

What would be cool is a metal **** with textured powder-coat, or maybe a metal **** dipped in rubber and then textured.

I use(and like) the stock cx ****. It doesn't look too nice, but form follows function, doesn't it??
