SCCA Solo/ProSolo Nationals '06 Roll Call
I wanna know if you're going, and if so, which event (or both), and what class are you going to be in. To start, I'll be in CS in a '99 Miata Sport. My wife will be in DSPL in my Prelude. Anyone else?

I'm just finishing packing up. Leaving early Saturday morning to drive out. Looks like a fun trip - 60% chance of thunderstorms the whole way to Kansas
I'm running my 86 Civic in EP on Thursday/Friday.

Good luck, Chris. I'll be on the same course as you Thurs/Fri. Not sure if Roger Johnson is designing the West course or the East course.
I have this feeling that it'll rain again at Nationals...and I'm in a damn convertible. I'll be 77 CS, while the wifey will be 77 DSPL...at least one of us needs to represent a Honda.

Re: SCCA Solo/ProSolo Nationals '06 Roll Call
I'm running a new chassis this year with many parts from last year's car. I don't know if it'll be enough to fight the Miata's in CSP but we'll give it our best. I'm sharing my car with a much faster driver - Ron Williams. It will be interesting to see just how cold it is for 1st heat on Thurs/Fri and if the A6's will work at all.

Re: SCCA Solo/ProSolo Nationals '06 Roll Call (Gearz)
what is your set up on the rex? right now i have a b16 hf in sm2. its fine for right now because im still learning but some day when i feel like being competitive (and swapping out the b16) i think this is my best option. i was just wondering what it takes to be competitive.
Thanks

Suspension wise, I'm running 650R and 450F springs on Advance Design shocks, no front sway bar and a ST adjustable rear bar. I like the shocks but if you're starting out I'd recommend race valved Konis. Tires are 225/45-13 Hoosiers on 13x9 wheels.
For the engine and drivetrain you'll want a 90 or 91 D16A6. I'm running individual throttle bodies and a custom exhaust header but you'll get decent power out of the factory intake and a decent header. Hondata or a standalone ECU will help and you'll want the lightest flywheel and clutch you can afford. A good limited slip diff is mandatory.
All in all I think the CRX is still an underdog in CSP compared with the Miatas. We have a slight weight advantage but the balance and RWD of the Miata's give them the upper hand in my opinion. I've continued developing my CRX just because it has always been the lowest cost option. I think the asphalt surface at HPT favors lighter cars so I'm hoping we'll provide a little competition this year, and I still have some more work to do on the car for next year.
Of course, what it REALLY takes to be competitive is lots of driving skill that I'm sorely lacking.
