That depends on the weight of your car, and the series you wish to race in.

buy a rulebook for the series in which you intend to compete.

well the reason i ask cause i don't know squat about autox yet( i am sure thats obvious) and have the oppertunity to get a cage built for cost of materials. all i want is a four point, nothing big, car will still be a daily driver.
info :
civic hb 1998
semi gutted - weight unknown
B18C5 with intake, test pipe, exhaust, exedy clutch, short shifter.

so i don't know what class that'll put me in. Overall i want the cage to be useable for drag racing too. although i don't think i'll ever get the car THAT fast but it'd be nice to have a USE for it.

whats the piping sizes you guys use and wall thickness of the metal.
thanks

A 4 point roll bar will require no re-classification of the car on your part - legal in stock and a good idea if you ever take it to the track. Look at the Solo I rulebook for cage specs.... you should built it to that spec to be safe.

Drag racing specs and Solo I/II specs are often different.

Minimum tubing sizing from the GCR (SS, IT & T spec full cage):
1501-2200 lbs. 1.500 dia x .095 wall DOM/Seamless
2201-3000 lbs. 1.500 dia x .120 wall DOM/Seamless

Good luck.... after all, you did mention you have a short shifter.
