Default Road racing build db7 or eg8

so recently acquired a db7 with a pretty decent set up, b18c1/Itr trans. Konis all around, Wilwood 4 piston brakes and it’s an rs model. I like it a lot but found some rust on the frame. Debating to fix it or just get a eg8 dx and swap everything from the integra to the civic. Purpose of this car is being a spare car when attending track days or wife wants to have fun as well she can use the “beater” car lol. Somewhat know about these chassis and they are basically the same but did notice even though the integra is a rs model it’s noticeably heavier then the eg sedan dx I had.

What do do you guys think? Save the integra or build the eg sedan and swap everything off the integra to the eg sedan??

The integra is decent, the civic is a lot cleaner. Just wondering if the civic would be the better platform or if the chassis among the two are the same? They appear to be the same length and width, just the integra is heavier but could be because it has the sway bars, b series, and from what I can tell a lot more sound deadening. I’ll post pictures later today.

Pretty sure it's the same general frame as the civic, just extra stuff added on. Suspension parts are shared between the two, I think Integras are a little more aerodynamic, but it's very minor. I don't think one has any tangible inherit advantage over another.

If its easier to move everything over to a Civic than it is to address the rust then go for it. I think you'd have to be staring at a ton of rust to get to that level though. Is it wire-wheel and POR-15 to clear it up type rust or cutting out panels and welding in new type of rust?

Sorry been busy, I’ll post pictures of the rust this weekend. Car is currently at a friend’s garage. Has surface rust on towers which looks like the upper control arm hit. And the real rust is on the lower driver and passenger side. It could be fixed, I was just wondering if the two chassis had an advantage over the other. But good to know thank you folks. I’ll be posting pictures soon.
