Re: Road Racing / Autocross / Time Attack Picture Post!!!
funny story...old motor was an 81.5mm gsr with an old school RLZ head and skunk2 manifold. "new" motor is a stock head 82mm gsr...running on the old tune because i ran out of time. afr's were pretty close but not perfect, this motor is noticeably snappier. old motor was down to like 150 compression in most cylinders but still made 172whp/126tq. made for an interesting experiment...increasing to 82mm actually seems to be equivalent air volume wise to a high end ported head.
yup, HC2. love this damn car, its down to 2450 with me in it finally (figure about 2200 curb weight basically) and like 175whp and we just go rip...nothing else like it

Traveled to Lake Barrington (about 3 5 hours from my home) here in Tasmania Australia for a Hill Climb aka 31 Bends. Did quite well considering I broke the K-Tune Shift Lever on the second run. Anyway I found a way to shove it into 3rd gear for the last two
Starts and Runs. Finished up winning my Class and resetting the Class record on the last run. Also made the national CAMS e-magazine win the bottom shot.

Took the car to Willow Springs back in September. It was my 1st time actually tracking my car. It had stock bushings, F&F Type 1 Garbage C/O's, stock B18B and LS tranny. I credit the Nitto NT01 tires for letting me get some decent times. After that event, I went LSVTEC as my B18B head had 3 valves not sealing properly and I was burning oil/smoking like crazy. Got a killer deal on a built B16A2 head and decided to make the swap. Right now, I'm getting ready to gut the suspension and replace everything to prepare for an event I have in January.

Not pictures but here is an old track-day video I found. My driving probably sucks, any tips?

Caught you making a few rough downshifts there. I'm guessing you weren't 100% comfortable with heel & toe downshifts at the time the video was taken. The pedal arrangement and brake pedal height on 90's Hondas aren't really conducive to easy downshifting so if you haven't already I'd consider getting investing a few dollars into improving the ergonomics in the footwell. I personally like to use the biggest master cylinder I can tolerate to get a nice stiff brake pedal, and put a wide pedal cover on the throttle. It makes a somewhat cumbersome maneuver much, much easier to do.
Once you have that sorted, you should be able to brake harder and later, especially into the slow corners. I see you lifting off the brake and letting the car settle before turning into the slower corners. That's actually hurting your corner entries. You should be able to start braking a car length or two later into the slow right hander and keep the front tyres loaded up as you turn in. That will help you turn the car without having to put in as much steering lock and will let you carry more speed through the middle of the corner as well.
Lastly, don't bother weaving down the straights at the beginning of your session. If you want to get gravel off the tyres, go into one of the slower corners at 50-70% and scrub the wheel back and forth gently. That does a much better job of cleaning the tread surface.

I have not post here in forever but here are some shots of our United Speed Racing 2017 Honda Civic Type-R Time Attack car at GTA Super Lap Battle at Buttonwillow Raceway last year

Bought this non-running basket case in late 2017, got it running and put together and did some autocross last year. Updated safety and wiring and looking to get on track with ChampCar this year!

The H4 revival squad in the northeast. Our cars have transformed and we have learned so much!
We are gaining two new racers next season at a minimum to bring the class to six cars.
It's been fun growing the class.

Well...I sold the Integra but I got something pretty cool. And I took it to my first event on March 31st and WON. Overall fastest time of the weekend! Not Honda but I hope you'll enjoy anyway...

Anyone have back to back experience in extensively tracking an RSX vs an Integra? RSX type s prices are dirt cheap...

if you get a rsx make sure you get GOOD coilovers for this chassis. shocks are EVERYTHING on this car. the rsx gets such a bad rap because of the mcphearson suspension but if you get the right shocks and get the pci spherical lower control arm bushings the rsx is awesome to drive.
and alignment. I’ve found 2.5 f, 1.7 r for camber is ideal. 1/8 toe and as much caster you can get.
