Request for comments on the ChatterBox intercom system.
its just a repackaged FRS system. i tihnk you know more about that than most of us.
it doesnt work well enough for motorcycle use if thats what you want to hear.

No, I'm talking about their wired intercom system for driver and passenger. It seems to be in far better favor among those on the OpenTracking.com list than the Nady system.

I just bought one, I got the HJC-50.
I like the Nady headsets better, they are thinner and more comfortable under the helmet than the Chatterbox "student" headsets. The "open face" headsets would probably be a better choice in retrospect.
sound quality is excellent. I will give more feedback after using it on track this weekend.
The Chatterbox seems to be the most popular one used for driver-to-passenger conversation in an HPDE enviornment. I know quite a few of the instructors who post here have them and really like them.
I have one. its ok. I guess I like it better than the nady it replaced. We'll see if it lasts longer. I only got 1 season out of the nady before it broke.

chatterbox is a lot better than the nady. the sound quality is better and louder, and the hardware quality better too. connector style allows frequent plugging/unplugging. rechargable battery is nice. should definitily last longer than the nady.

Thanks guys. I may try to borrow a Chatterbox to try it out next weekend. I have used the Nady and yes, it did, seem flimsy, though it got the job done.

trust me guys, there isn't any real drawback on the chatterbox. it is MUCH better than the nady, and there it isn't that expensive neither ($about $130). sparco and OMP actually have setups for about $100. never seen them in action or heard much about them though.
