I was speaking with Lex Carson at Moton a couple weeks ago after receiving my order and he told me that to mount the remote reservoir I'd need to cut 3" holes through the car's body. I just read elsewhere that some reservoir lines come with quick disconnects so that you can simply fish the line through a much smaller hole in the body. Unfortunately Motons don't come with this line.

I don't have a problem cutting into my car (DC2) to mount the reservoirs - I just want to explore all my options and do this correctly the first time. I'm looking for pictures and feedback from those that have already done it themselves.

On the GAC TSX's i work with, they have the 3inch holes cut in the unibody. No other real option

Moton sells quick release using staublii drybreak connectors. They are expensive and might be the only option. However, be aware, you will still have to have nitrogen, regulator and adapter to fill the canister on the moton.

First, release the nitrogen pressure, disconnect the quick disconnect, then refill the canister.

IMHO, just cut 3" hole. This is how we did it in our NSX too.

That's what I thought - might you have any pics or direct me to where there may be some?

I'm not too fond of releasing the pressure and then recharging it - I'll be cutting the 3" holes. I'll check out the GAC forums for more info.

here's mine, not a great pic, but..

the holes are covered by a piece of aluminum riveted in place
just watch it's not too close to the exhaust

in the front you don't need to cut anything, just pass the reservoirs near the steering rack and tie em to your strut bar

You can actually use a 2-1/8 hole saw to make the hole. 2-1/8 is the size of the canister and it will fit through that hole. The hose fitting will fit too after the majority of the canister is pushed through the hole and angled just right. Use a piece of SS or aluminum with a slit cut in it (that opens when bent to accept the hose) and rivet that over the hole. Cut a grommet and silicon that in place around the cover where the hose goes through.

Easy. I did this to the trunk of my S2000 and when I sold the motons to build my CRX, I just patched the holes with new stainless steel panels and used the same rivet holes.

Hint: Find the right size rubber grommet first. Then get a hole saw of the right size. Its a lot easier in htis order

Does anyone know where I can buy the reservoir mounts in the picture? I like the cradle design.
