RECOMENDED BRAKE PADS!!!!!!!!!!HELP
What do you guys recommend for brake pads. Im looking to spend no more the 100.00 for both front and rear. I want something that will be fitted for my 400hp daily driver. Something that will stop aggressively, wont create much dust and I don’t want them to wear out fast. I will be purchasing new OEM rotors or I may have mine turned. What pads do you guys recommend?

google carbotech and give them a call...
And just because you have 400 hp dosent mean you need better brake pads... your car will stop from any given speed with any power level.

I just tossed some Raybestos dust-free pads I ran on my ITR for a while. They were dust free. I miss the days of dust free pads.

No **** nobies. I know this. It is just the fact that I will be doing 120 more often then you guys and my car will require the stopping power more often.

Re: RECOMENDED BRAKE PADS!!!!!!!!!!HELP (boostedteg4dr)
Less than $100 front AND rear?
Most race quality pads are going to cost more than that just for the fronts... Carbotech, Cobalt, Porterfield and Hawk are all beyond your budget..
Many race pads will destroy your rotors when not up to constant race temp. And if you're driving it on the street, they won't be. Axsis Metal Masters are decent street pads for the price. They are heavy duty street pads, which for a daily driver is really what you want.

Holy ****! Did you seriously just come into this forum and ask a question that's been covered eleventy-billion times, meanwhile wanting everything under the sun for less than Checker replacement pad prices, and then have the nerve to call the real racers who gave you real answers noobies? Get the F outta here.
Edit: What's up w/ H-T? I guess we can't type "the F-word" anymore.

Give him a break. He may be dead soon. And you'd feel bad if yours were the last words he ever read before running into a farmer on a back-hoe on his 120mph trip to Walmart to get the only affordable brake pads he could find because he doesn't know how to use a search engine. Or his manners.
expletive.
(Edit: Hey, you're right. You can't say expletive anymore...)

Jesus Christ, 4:45 minutes later and I finally get the cheese head joke.
I was wondering what your angle was there....
ON topic: There's no good performance pads for $100 for all 4 corners.

Keep in mind that most folks are in this forum because we road race and/or autocross. So we go fast pretty darn often. And that's where good quality aftermarket performance pads shine, because they can hold up to the heat generated by strong stopping over and over again. Which makes this a good place to ask your question. However, as thawley said,
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by thawley »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Less than $100 front AND rear?

Good quality pads typically cost around $100 for each axle or thereabouts. If you want to get pads to give you strong stops over and over again, that's what you'll need to pay. Otherwise, in the price range you're asking for, you're looking at your typical generic auto parts store type pads, which won't give you the performance you're asking for. Your money, your choice.

Yes ... and we can even post picture links that work. Score 2 for us I guess.

Hawk HPS will be just under $95 total for both. Front HB245F.631 (FMSI D617) ~$52 and rear HB350F.496 (FMSI D374) ~$40. Front Hawk HP+ will be about $70 ("F" is HPS, "N" is HP+) the rear HP+ will be about $52. These prices are averages of prices from ebay, wholesalers, etc and sellers on the honda-tech market place. These compounds aren't the most ideal for lengthy track sessions; the HPS being a damn good street pad in my opinion, and the HP+ being a good comprimise between daily and more track/hpde/auto-x; HP+ are great if you don't feel like swapping out the pads before/after every event.
Then figure anywhere from $13 to $22 per rotor front or rear. Autozone blanks are awesome.
Like others have said, you'll be hard pressed to find dedicated track pads under $100. Hawk Blue 9012 just for the front are about $160, Hawk HT-10 for the front are about $188.

I don't use the same sizes as you do. For the Hawk HP+ (a good street/track pad, BTW), my ITR uses parts HB143N.680 and HB145N.570, which are $100 for a front set and $81 for a rear set at the Tire Rack. (And while you can sometimes find a smokin' deal on ebay or elsewhere, I wouldn't count on that when estimating prices.) Autozone rotors for the ITR are $25 front and $49 rear.

The prices I got are from http://www.performancepeddler.com with wholesale login of 'bestoffer4u' or 'ebay4u' . Plus they have free shipping and no tax for me. For the R, they have the front HB143N ~$83 and the rear HB145N ~$73. I've bought from them before without issue, but when they have to dropship it takes a couple days longer to ship. I guess the R brakes just cost a bit more than the std brakes, i'll be more than happy to take them off your hands
