Those images are from www.24hoursoflemons.com racecars in which 2 cars were rolled and guys walked away 80 MPH rollovers. And the doors bars have got hit doors by other cars and no one hurt.

There's a reason they are on a Lemons car.

What does that supposed to mean?
Have You raced a Lemons race or a chumpcar ?
Do You roadrace?
There is few races on south Carolina.
If not then you should.
My cage designs are different but proven non the less. Especially when Your putting cages in. Cars that were never meant for a cage/racing. Like 73 pinto station wagons, cavalier wagons, maximas, Cadillac sts with hand controls and Honda wagovans. You can't call autopower for those cages.

What he means is not only are the designs unsafe those popcorn welds are not much stronger than what comes out of a hot glue gun!

Yes but when it comes to safety, pointing out negatives is actually a constructive exercise to perform.

when someone builds a cage on my next race, there will be NO negatives about the design/construction.

Roll cages are cheap, hospital stays are not

These are safe cages everything I build Is 1 3/4-.120 DOM. Constructive criticism is OK. And is hard to take but I've built cages for when you roll not if You roll. My design are different not the usually coolie cutter stuff. Ill find link on YouTube on cage I built tested.
This thread is getting big time hijacked.

From an engineering standpoint, there are numerous flaws with your design. A tube is weakest in the middle going perpendicular to the length but you have a door bar terminating there with no reinforcement? Numerous unnecessary bends? The cages might of held up but it could be a much stronger design for the amount of material present.

A bunch of those door bars weren't finish ,But I understand what your saying .I build a lot of desert with all sorts of triangleation ( if that is a word) .So the road race is a lot different . Everyone has different ways of doing things and these have worked for me in the past .

here is a link to the my cage tested

Yes I road race and yes I have driven a lemons car. I also have karting experience and autocross experience.

I also watch the video and your cage did hold up well.

Your cage did great , thanks for the video. How interesting that the only time he could have got injured was when he dropped on his head, i'm going have to remember to put one hand up. Your welds look fine as well it's a mig, too many people spend time on this site looking at tig welds I suppose.

You might want to look into some cage designs , like WRC http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q...w=1280&bih=832 or speed world challenge, maybe visit a race as you can take your work and make it a lot lighter and stronger at the same time. You obviously have the skills so no reason you can't change up the designs too.

Good stuff fabtoys

Nice one....
Im not one to comment much especially on anyone else's fab work (ever) but you backed it up like no other. Not many fabricators have been lucky enough to have video proof of their hard work to be proven (unfortunately at anothers expense) but you got it and you cant deny that you did a good job. You seam to like to do some elaborate tube work, you can simplify it and make your cages even stronger at the same time with a more "proper" design. Like i said i don't ever comment or talk to "fabricators" usually about their work but if you would ever want (if needed of course) i can make myself available to help you out on simplifying your cages to not only make them even safer (i know yours work already ;-) ) but also help make the job a little bit easier to execute.

Southeast (Florida): Creative Motion Concepts http://cmcpros.com/new/default.asp

Built our chump cage, decent prices, but research rulebooks to make the cage legal for multiple sanctioning bodies, seat mounted to the cage (not the car), etc. Haven't tested the cage yet, and hope not to, but not worried about it failing.
