$15-20 per tire is reasonable as far as i can see to ship those to a residential address, business address will be in the $12-16 range i bet per tire depending on how far they have to go
just imagine you are paying $85 per tire with free shipping, does that make you feel better? lol
still better than $149 per tire i usually see them for
i have 12 of them coming in to us -- so in a couple of months when you can't find them anymore i will gladly sell you a set for $110 per tire (FREE SHIPPING), how that sound? hehe

For anyone who has used these what are they like on the limit? IE, compared to a "Star Spec, Re-11, R-S3. Specifically what is the difference in grip, and do they have a linear/predicable loss of grip. I always hear how Hoosier let go very sudden, and was wondering how this compares.

These are not really in the same class, the tires you listed are a high performance street/summer tire.
I did end up getting another set so now I have 2 sets, the brand new ones for rain for now, and the older ones that have 1 track day for school in feb.
I wouldnt compare these to hoosiers at all, they arent as good as even the ra1s they were meant to replace.

known, I'm well aware these are R comps and that many people raised hell when they where changed to these in spec miata and the like. I ask because I already bought a set and thought I was going to run a different set up. I'm not worried about them not having the best R comp grip on the market just how their slip angle compares to a RE-11 to hoosier. Are they a middle ground or are they further on one side than another.
IE, at RA a few weeks ago I spoke to someone who runs them on their lotus and they thought the R888's were a great all around track tire that even a intermediate student could run with and still learn.

Re: R888 SALE 205/50/15 Heads Up.
I ran my takeoff Hoosiers last time I was out and let a good friend run my set of r888s to break them in some since they werent shaved. I can give you his feedback which is much better than mine would be.
He won the saarc a few years ago in F prod so I can trust his input.
Not hoosiers obviously, in his opinion they were a pretty solid tire that gave him a lot of feedback. He pushed them pretty hard and was happy with their performance. Thought the ra1 was a little better. Good feedback from the tire at the limit.
He also brought up some good points about those upset miaters:
The tires need a different setup like most to maximize their potential, the spec guys had the cars and tires very dialed in together so instantly not being able to throw them on in the same configurations as the ra1 made some people unhappy. It takes a lot of R&D to get a setup you like and that works which is understandable.
I havent been on them enough but I was happy enough to add another set at these prices.
This is him in his ITB del slo on the new r888s if youre interested. I know it doesnt help with feel etc but he is pretty quick considering he is at about 100hp.
I hope this helps some, just my opinions and others I have heard.
