Proper brake pad break in (Cobalt Friction GT sport)

Proper brake pad break in (Cobalt Friction GT sport)
I have heard of 2 diffrent ways to properly brake in the brakes.
The first way is to just not brake hard for the first 250 miles.
The second way that I have heard, is to do more of a heat up cycle for them. What I mean my this is go up to 50, apply the brakes, slow to zero. Then go to 70-0, and so on. What is the proper way?
I need an answer pretty quick. I will be going to my first HPDE tommrow, and I need to break these in.

Didn't your pads come with instructions? I know mine did.
First 4-5 very mild stops from around 45 down to 5-10 mph, do not lock the brakes up.
Drive around for a little bit not using the brakes (if you do have to use them don't stay on them at a stop light or something, get off of them as soon as you can)
Second 4-5 hard stops from 45 down to 5-10 mph in semi rapid sucession, and again do not lock the brakes up.
Then drive around for 20 minutes (probably best to freeway drive) using the brakes as little as you can. Get home, park and do not set the parking brake. If you have to, put blocks behind the wheels and let sit overnight.
I maybe wrong with the numbers to start from, I don't have the Cobalt instruction card in front of me. But this will break in the pads regardless anyway.

Do a few stops (6-8?) from 50-10 mph (light pressure), Drive 10 minutes to let brakes cool.
Do a few more stops (6-8?) from 50-10 mph (harder pressure), Let brakes cool.
Let car sit for 30 min.
Take first session on track easy (6/10ths) to make sure they're bedded properly.

cool thanks. Yea, my cobalts didn't have directions in them. I looked around but they just wern't there.
Once I break them in, I will still have to drive 3 hours to get to the Track. Thanks for you help

Directly from Cobalt:
(1) After ensuring proper installation of your new Cobalt GT-Sport brake pads, using moderate pedal pressure, brake form 45-50mph down to 10-15mph, 4-6 times in succession; do not use hard pedal pressure - brake smoothly.
(2) Drive for 10-15 minutes to allow the GT-Sport brake pads to cool down; if possible avoid using the brake pedal.
(3) Repeat step (1) with hard pedal pressure, followed by a driving cool down of at least 15 minutes.
(4) Park your vehicle without using the emergency brake for at least 2 hours to allow final tempering. it is optimal to allow your newly-bedded GT-Sport brake pads to temper overnight to achieve the best possible performance.
Note: The above bedding instruction can be used for the Axxis Ultimate, Ferodo DS2500, and other similar compounds.
