Well, I'd be interested in the experience, but I lack expertise. If you want another guy hanging around when you do find someone who is knowledgeable in this, let me know...

Or if you get desperate and want to try it "blind leading the blind", then I might be good for some of that too.. Can't do it this weekend, but after that, maybe.

Damn, I wish I was in Philly! Honestly, if you have a Helms you will be fine. I would order all the shims before hand though, else you will be waiting on these since Honda never has them in stock. Might as well get new diff bearings too and buy some Hondabond. Other than feeler gauges and a torque wrench thats all you should need. Go ahead, give it a crack, it's not that hard

Thats bullshit....if you can 'rebuild' a tranny you already know how to install an LSD. Why lie to people that know? There is no 'art' or 'magic' while working on cars, everything is logical and has a measurement or a specification.

Oowow I'm so impressed. Buy a ******* service manual and follow the procedures for installing it, what the **** more do you want Mr. Hotwrench? If you can rebuild an american slushbox, you can put an LSD inside a Honda transmission. It is very straightforward. There is no art, no voodoo magic, and no casting of spells. Nobody would touch it because they are either too busy to mess with your tranny or don't know what the hell they are doing. Soooo open the goddamn thing up and install it yourself!

Tone it down - this is really unneccessary. If you feel the need to lash out at someone for no reason, take it to PM/Email or pick up the phone and call someone who cares.

Thanks.

Hey all I am saying is that if this guy really has rebuilt dozens of transmissions, he should have zero problems with a service manual and a Honda gearbox.

All I am saying is that your 'attacks' were completely unwarranted and have no place here. We are all here to have a good time, help each other out, give us a distraction or a laugh from work, etc.... there is just no need for that at all. He didnt ask for your help, or go after you for anything.

So what if he has rebuilt other transmissions? Maybe he was not comfortable with a honda 'box and wanted to enlist the help of professionals to ensure the job was done right and no problems down the road or downtime waiting for parts.

Either way - tone it down, switch to decaf, send your mother flowers, turn off the screen, whatever you need to do but we dont need that here.

</soapbox>

Oh OK so him calling me a 'duschebag' is not an attack? I'm trying to help the guy, and he calls me a douchebag.
