how do i put a type r lsd in my b16a3 tranny??

 

Simple. Take it to a professional. If u even asked that question, again take it to a professional.

Isn't that easy.

 

gee thanks, but if i had the cash i would, i really want to know if i need to change the bearings from exposed to sealed. thats pretty much it

 

get an ITR or GSR ring gear, swap bearings onto the LSD and throw it in.

Is this something that can get complicated?
I talked with IAS (place I plan to get my GSR motor) and was quoted $150 for labor to install LSD on the motor. I would have to buy the LSD, but just curious if it's worth to pay someone who knows what they are doing with this......

 

150$ is a good price for someone to install the LSD.

Honda/Acura would do i for abour 400+ not including the LSD.

Install it yourself. Search google for it "Installing LSD"

You'll find information about it on the first page, with pics. Called "Getting high on LSD's"

 

count on a few days of down time while you wait for the proper width shims from Acura/Honda.

you do need to gap the differential when using standard (not-taper) bearings.
so you will need to order the correct size (thickness) shims to place the differential correctly inside the transmition case.

-just helpin'. I installed an ITR LSD into ym GSR tranny, was not that difficult.. I was more nervous than anything else.
