One of the better double nuts CAG bird liveries. Reminds me of the Jolly Rogers with the black and yellow.

LMAO! Yeah they are huge. I ran into people years later who told me they were on the same ship and deployment as me and we never saw each other lol. 5600 people were on the ship!

I can't imagine how huge they must be. Surely it has to be experienced to be believed/understood.

Definitely. Still parts of the ship I've never seen, and I walked all over the ship and delivered our daily schedule to our various departments and pilots. The flight deck actually felt small honestly.

Bruh, I open my school yearbooks and I don't even remember half the people in my class - and it was only like 30 ppl.

Did you serve este?
I was checking out that first show (with the P51), but I fell asleep. I'll have to get back on that.

No sir, did not serve. My pops is (now) a 1LT USN Ret, and that drug us around the country a fair bit. We got access to all of the ships he was deployed on as you do, but then some other gems too. DDG's, SSN's, CV-64 (actually got to be just off the flight deck during an airshow on CV-64. That was an unreal experience.)

To be fair, it's a bunch of old English men. So the droning on can put you to sleep.

That's awesome! I worked with all the pilots and got to do some really cool stuff. Sitting in the crows nests while planes landed during night ops ranks high up on the list.

My dad served on a tender nicknamed the "Love Boat" after a bunch of people got pregnant on deployment.

My dad told me several stories from bowling on the deck (and having ***** occasionally go overboard) to towing hundreds of pairs of jeans behind the boat to tell in foreign ports as stonewashed.

Coworker of mine was in the Navy and he had the helm during a man overboard drill. He managed to hit the dummy lol.

Both have also regaled me with the story of the mad crapper. Apparently its a long standing naval tradition. Messed up if you ask me.

I thought my dad was gay at one point when I found his equator crossing video. Lots of homoerotic things going on when you cross the equator for the first time.

Can confirm lol. I had the pleasure of participating in two traditions. Crossing the equator and the international date line. There was a 3rd that I was in, involved a lot of paint, but I can't recall what that one was for.

i'm surprised you didn't correct my usage of 'boat' when it is a ship. the old timers always made a point of correcting me
