DAAAAAAYUM!
After the race Max was asked his opinion about the decision, he smiled and asked if he could swear. Yep, I like the dude now. He's won me over.

He also said if the FIA had called people for exceeding track limits previously he wouldn't have taken that corner like he did. Also stated a certain FIA official always rules against him.

Buxton asked if his name started with a G and Max confirmed it did.

No idea beyond that

Verstappen was frustrated by the "really weird" situation of being unable to challenge the stewards' decision and said he hoped the crowd would stay away from next year's race in protest.
Maybe he should take a knee

"I noticed I was able to remain relatively close," said Hamilton. "Initially, I was thinking maybe I would just have to stay close and wait for the pitstops but then I could see him pushing. I'm thinking, 'I'm pretty good on my tyres right now, and he's going too quick through that corner so he's going to kill his tyres', and that's what he did.

"He was driving too quick through some of those corners and the temperatures would have been going up. If he had backed off in those places he would have been able to keep me behind, but he didn't. He made a few mistakes, he was locking up and I thought 'I've got this'."

A story title from today but with the names of the events removed.

" Fernando Alonso could run Honda's updated Formula 1 engine at this weekend's _______ Grand Prix as a result of the failure he incurred during the race at _____. "

I feel like I've seen this same story more than a dozen times in the last 3 years.

once hamilton got in front, you could see his car pulling away from vettel more and more each corner. Seb had nothing

at least, that's what I gathered during the 2 laps I watched

I have a feeling Sainz will obliterate him next year. It's a shame...we all think Hulk is this immense talent. He has shown flashes of brilliance (mainly his two front row starts and his entire 2013 campaign) but to have no podiums after 130+ races is really disheartening. He's like a worse version of Giancarlo Fisichella.

Less handsome too according to some of my female coworkers who stole my Autosport magazines after seeing pics of Fisichella.

I share that feeling.

I've been saying since the day he & Max made their debuts, Sainz is SPECIAL. The only reason he hasn't shone as brightly is that Verstappen is a generational talent, along the lines of Alonso whereas Sainz is closer to someone like Jenson, at least to me.

I thought it was interesting that RB "loaned" Sainz to Renault for 2018 as a hedge against Ricciardo leaving for Merc/Ferrari in 2019. Would be inreresting to see Max/Sainz dueling it up again.

I really hope that something is done about parity. I miss 2012 when you had 13 different drivers on the podium. This season only 7.

Things are getting better.

I think 2019 will be a year of parity, 2020 will be big time domination like 2013 IMO. 2021 is new regs IIRC.

I wonder what McLaren was thinking when the 2 Renault engines popped. A new one and an old one. Granted 2 of 6 Renault PUs failed vs 1 of 2 Honda but you know if a Renault PU is gonna fail next year it will be Fred's

They'll accept engine failures as a cost for a potential podium spot next season.

Alonso's failure was an MGU-H...Honda just can't figure that part out for some reason. This is after using 10 of them on the season

Well Honda had said they had a manufacture issue with the MGU-H shaft. They pulled the bad batch and that was supposed to be the end of it. Waffle got an ICE change because his had excessive mileage on it. Then he had to turn around and get another MGU-H. I wonder if Honda is experimenting with tricky **** at this point. They knew they had an issue before and they had reverted to an older spec. I wonder if they went to a redesign of the newer spec. The shaft can be changed without penalty but the unit has to go back to the engine shop for that to be done.
