Metallic scraping sound
This may be OT, and the wrong forum, but I trust the audience in here the most, so I wanted to present it here:
I first noticed this sound while autoxing a couple of months ago. During right-hand corners (obviously hard corners) a metallic scraping, scratching sound emanates from what seems to be the left front corner. I only hear it when cornering hard enough to generate significant suspension travel, i.e. not during normal driving.
Any thoughts? I apologize for this being in this forum, but I respect you guys' (RR/AX Forum Regs) opinion the most.

Re: Metallic scraping sound (JeffS)
I guess the only reason I doubt that is due to the nature of the sound. It seems metal-to-metal...
I will give the interference points a harder look for witness marks.

Re: Metallic scraping sound (allenp)
Does a GS-R have factory mud flaps behind the front wheels? If so, look at the bottom of the left front one and see if you're scraping it. I've seen other Stock class cars do this.

Worst case it sounds like it might be a failed or failing wheel bearing. Do the wheel(s) shake? That isn't a very good test, but if they do...then there's the problem.
