AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY - Discounts!
We have very low signups for this weekend at our Auto Club Speedway infield event. As a result we are soliciting groups of 5 or more drivers for discounts. Please contact us to arrange for group pricing. Also, we have lowered our two-day price for this weekend's event from a $20 to a $100 discount. The two day price is now $380 instead of $460. And, if that weren't enough, anyone who signs up for either day at this weekend's event will get a $40 discount and free timing at Buttonwillow on August 9 & 10 (that's $140 including transponder!). Here are the car counts for Saturday and Sunday at Auto Club Speedway as of 10:20pm Wed evening. (Sunday is as empty as we've ever seen for this venue!).

GUMBALL 3000 COMING TO SPEED VENTURES
Speed Ventures participants and spectators shall suffer (in a good way) the slings and arrows of other people's outrageous good fortune on August 9th at Buttonwillow Raceway Park as we play host to the first high-speed rallye (that's the British way of spelling it) checkpointe (that's the French way) of the celebrity and billionaire-studded extravaganza known as Gumball 3000. In a nutshell, Gumball 3000 provides an unprecedented opportunity for high net-worth individuals to galivant across the globe in pimped out supercars at whatever speed the local authorities will allow by day, and to party like rockstars (well, some of them ARE rockstars actually) at night. Because local authorities can be somewhat reluctant to let people drive 200mph, Gumball 3000 organizers have decided to schedule a couple pit stops at two of the world's premier racetracks (the Chinese Formula 1 circuit (a fantastic F1 track) and Buttonwillow Raceway Park (an equally fantastic and increasingly famous club racing track). After visiting Speed Ventures at Buttonwillow Raceway and eating 350 hotdogs, the caravan of 100+ participants and 250 TV/media and crew will make it's way to Los Angeles where they will go to the kind of parties Aaron Bitterman doesn't get invited to. From there they will go straight to Las Vegas just to make sure they've covered all their bases and aren't unwisely assuming Hollywood has the most to offer in the way of extravagance and debauchery. Next they'll make the obvious move of loading all 100 supercars on to air transport straight for Pyongyang, North Korea (yes, North) because they couldn't think of a better way to show all of us just how truly rich and crazy they really are.

My hope is that all of you will tell all your friends and come out to Buttonwillow on August 9th to witness Gumball 3000 in all it's glory, watch the fantastic collection of vehicles on track, and see celebrities and other high net-worth individuals eat hot dogs. Of course you're welcome to sign up to drive with us as well. Gumball 3000 activities will not affect the track time of our regularly scheduled event. Admission to the Park, as always, will be $10 for spectators. We expect Gumball drivers to begin arriving around 5pm, at which point the entrance gate will be jammed up with cars, so PLEASE ARRIVE BY 4:30pm if you are planning to come out and watch! For more information on Gumball 3000, visit http://www.gumball3000.com.

LOTUS CHALLENGE SERIES UPDATE
The Lotus Challenge Series has taken California and Nevada by storm with excellent turnouts and fantastic time trial competition. Round 5 will be held at Buttonwillow Raceway on August 9 and 10. LCS drivers will mix in with our regular drivers as part of our regular run groups and run a time trial at the end of the day on Sunday. If you own a Lotus, competing in the LCS is the best way to truly enjoy your car, improve your driving skills, explore your limits, and half badzookas of fun on track with fellow Lotus owners. For more information, visit http://www.lotuschallengeseries.com.

SUBIEFEST at WSIR
Speed Ventures will host Subiefest at Willow Springs on September 6 and 7. If you are a Subaru owner or fan, Subiefest is the premier Subaru event in the country. Subiefest will host competitions, open-track sessions, and Subaru of America will have the latest cars available for test drives on track. For more information on Subiefest, visit http://www.subiesport.com/subiefest-2008.html.

AUTO CLUB (FONTANA) SPEEDWAY "ROVAL" EVENT ADDED TO SCHEDULE
We added another Auto Competition Course ("ROVAL") event at Auto Club Speedway (formerly California Speedway) on September 20 and 21. To do this, we cancelled the previously scheduled event on Sept. 13/14. Each day for this event will be split into two parts. Drivers can sign up for 4 x 25min. sessions in the morning (8:30am-1:30pm) or 4 x 25min. sessions in the afternoon (1:30pm - 6:00pm). We will only have 3 run groups in each half-day period so your wait time between sessions will only be two sessions. Anyone who wants to drive all day and get 8 x 25min. sessions is free to sign up for both the morning and afternoon session. The early bird pricing for this event will be $178 for 4 x 25m sessions (yes, that is VERY cheap) once registration opens. This price will only hold for the first 8 signups for each run group and then the prices will go up.

We will also host a semi-exclusive run group with half the number of cars on Saturday the 20th. This group will be Green passing rules (intermediate and advanced drivers) and will cost twice as much (early bird pricing = $360 for 4 x 25m sessions and $710 for all day (8 x $25min sessions). This group is geared for higher-value cars, although we will not place a strict dollar amount on the cars that can enter. Drivers and cars will be vetted and controlled by Speed Ventures to ensure a proper fit for this group. To participate in this session, please contact us directly.

4-PT BELTS REMINDER
Please remember that, although we are allowing non-ASM 4pt. belts, ALL 4pt. belts, including ASM belts must pass tech at the track. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Thanks for reading - hope to see you at the track.

Badzookas!
