Idiots who think they are not, and then insult me
Idiots!

Short story: I'm looking for some OE Altima alloys. I find altimas.net. I see what appears to be a competition forum. I look around. This guy posts his "information" about x-drilled brake rotors and how much better they stop the car. I correct his misinformation with all the good stuff from the Saturn brake engineer guy. He basically calls all of it rediculous.
Probably not competition related, but I figured the usual suspect in the competition forum would like to see this.

The fact is you wont change the views of an ignorant riceboy. Not that he can comprehend what James Walker has to say anyways, totally beyond his realm of understanding. Dont waste time, energy, and keystrokes....

lol, I would reply how i can out break my friends GSR w/ cross drilled rotors, and i just have Brembo Blanks but i don't feel like registering on ANOTHER site.
He sounds like the typical 'shop' owner trying to sell a product, that he has no 'real' experience with.
Also since when did differ rotors cause squeaky brakes? I always thought it was your pads that caused the squeaking

I wonder, if you drilled the holes in the rotor at exactly the right angle, if you could get them to whistle at high speed. Now that'd be fun. I can see the ad now:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
!!!!Screamin' Rotors!!!!
You've cleared your lights, dumped your cat, tossed your front plate, and tinted your windshield. So how else are you gonna pi$$ off the law?
GET Screamin' Rotors
At over 70MPH, Screamin' Rotors begin to wail with the sound of speed. Their 120db scream lets everyone know you're not afraid of 5.0, and their cross-drilling gives that classic Tuner look.
Contact your nearest Bling dealer today, and ask them why the F*** they aren't stocking Screamin' Rotors.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, BTW, Patent Pending.

It's not worth arguing with people like that. No matter how logical or scientific the information you give them on a subject, they will allways come-up with some twisted up explanation to backup their own ignorant beliefs. Let him keep on reading the BS ricer-magazine tests and howstuffworks.com and think that he knows it all. I'm sure the intelligent people on the site will read the info you gave and make their own intelligent conclusions.

1) It entertains those of us who actually know what we are talking about when we see an idiot being made to look like a fool
2) It may ultimately prevent one person who doesn't know any better from making a mistake that could cause harm to his car, himself or others.

(3) It amuses Cobra who has little else to do at work since his servers don't break very often.

Ok, i could be wrong here but i'm just using simple logic. Given that brake pad technologies has advanced in many ways over the years, this almost elimminates the need for venting gasses. Sice that's what a cross-drilled rotor was designed to do, then what true purpose can it serve now that it is no longer needed? I look at it this way, crossdrilling removes suface area of the braking surface and with less surface ares for the brake pad to come into contact with the less friction is going to be created. And that my friend is what stop the car FRICTION. The guy talks about how before his altima would slide ie. lock up under hard braking with his stock rotors and now he is amazed at how it no longer "slides" with his awesome C/D rotors. If you ask me it sounds like they don't work as well as stock rotors. If he had better tires to take advantage of the stoping force he had available with the oem brakes he wouldn't have locked up so easly. Oh but wait, remember he doesn't believe better tires improve braking hahhahaha. IF he is worried about heat, he should sell those rotors and go spend $5 at home depot on some dryer hose to duct air to cool his brakes that he builds up some much heat in going to mickydees. He got's em for the bling bling factor and tries to tell himself because they look good they must improve braking. I don't feel like writing anymore just wanted to share my opinion on it.

WooHoo! I was approved - my guess for only one post however.
Nice post man, LOL... their responses will be interesting, IF they can come up with anything witty to say.

Their responses center mostly around my tactics as being a bit "brash".
I find that hard to believe . . .

I'm not sure "diplomatic" would be the word I'd use to describe your debate tactics, but ultimately, they appear to be effective. If nothing else, they are certainly amusing, much to the detriment of those on the opposing side.

You are forgetting the all-important bling-bling affect.

We all know why most people get them. IT's a simple fact.
