Default hitches

I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I can get a trailer hitch for a del Sol. I've searched the H-T archives, I've searched the web. I just need to tow tires, so it does'nt have to be heavy duty. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. TIA...

Some people swear by U-Haul and others will say go to a trailer dealer.

What stops them from making a universal version for various size receivers? What makes them car specific?

I had a hidden-hitch on my ITR and it was great. They have a special low-profile receiver which is flat rather than square. Not sure if they have a del-sol version, but it's something to look into.

Uhhh...I don't know.

Call them. I've seen them on S2Ks, E36 M3s, Miatas, to name a few. I can't get a good mount for my NSX so I haven't bothered asking. But they I was impressed by the design nevertheless.

Try http://www.1800hitchit.com/. I got the hitch for my R from here. It's a drawtite, fits perfectly and was *much* cheaper than most other places (i.e. Uhaul).

First thing you do once you install it is peel off the stickers. It make a huge difference it "hiding" the hitch, otherwise everyone instantly recognizes you have a hitch on your car and then asks the inevitable question "why do you have a hitch on your car?"

not only functional, it's "cute" too!

It looks like it slides into the hitch itself, ie: just a pole that sticks out in the shape of a curved "T". You could probably get a decent hitch and buy one of those, it wouldn't be hard to make it fit, if it doesn't already.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. It looks like you could design one just like the bike racks that mount only to the hitch. I would have loved one of these for my ITR, except that my tire trailer allowed for a tool box as well. Still, storage if these little guys must be easy.
