Help troubleshooting starter problem...
So my car has not run in a year or so. I want to build up oil pressure before I start it. The dizzy is unplugged. I push the start button and let it run for a few seconds. I don't want to run it too long at one time and burn the starter out. So I turn it over a few seconds, release and when I try to turn it over again it just clicks. WTF? Battery dead? Throw charger on battery and it is charging at a little over 5 amps. Let it charge until it is charging at about 2 amps. Turns over fine. Release starter button and try again. Same thing. Do this like 6 times and go buy a new battery. Install new battery. It just clicks. Throw charger on, brand new battery is charging at 5 amps. Let charge a while and then try to start. Turns over but when I release the starter it won't turn over the second time.
Any ideas? I have done this before and I don't remember it killing the battery after a few seconds of cycling. It has done this with two batteries now.

Chris - Good luck reserecting the integra to race! It sounds like your starter solenoid bit the dust or when it is hot fails, which is fairly common.
