How much downforce does that wing produce? Does it keep the back of the car stable? I'm thinking about one for my prelude, it gets shaky when I hit VTEC yo.

Oh, cool, is that an SiR?!?!?
PS the wing produces enough downforce to cave the trunk lid in at speed.

Dont make fun of the sweet Si-R w/ the rare DX street package option.
The monster toca wing disguises it as a ricey street car instead of the sweet Si-R that it clearly is. According to the sticker on the back that is.
j/k - sorta.

Nice shiney header for your SOHC SiR..cool.
A comment on the back wing though - it's installed incorrectly. The braces are too close together. They are supposed to be located 1/4 of the wing length from the endplate edges, that way the wing is stucturally sound and as stiff as possible. The way it is now, the end of the wings aren't supported far enough out and the outside aluminum will be stressed and bend downward at high speeds.
You just need to relocate the wing struts to their proper position and everything will be fine though. You'll need to figure out how to cover up the exposed holes that will now be in the middle of the trunk. Oh and the holes in the wing too.... though maybe you could leave those as they could act like the holes in a wiffle ball and help reduce some drag ....

I would like to see the reasearch that convinces people that a wing of that size provides them with any extra help while driving. Not to be a hater, oh ok to be a hater, that looks like **** and the money could have been spent elswhere on the car. Was it bought for the show factor? The header looks good though.

As much as I'd love to jump in on the beat up the wing guy . . . Shane, this forum rarely gets a "lemme show you my new header" pic. I think that is why you are getting such a warm welcome (the wing is the cannon fodder) but I could be wrong. Most of the listers here track their cars be it on the Drag Strip, Auto X or Road Course extensively so most pics are like "me passing a 993 TT at Wicked Park" or "massive spin at Crumbling Crown" or "new Zippy-Pro 14 pt. roll cage installed" or something of that ilk.
I would assume you think we're a bunch of ******** and typically that is absolutely true. However in this case, almost everyone I know on this forum has H/I/E and several have full roll cages, coil-overs, port-polish-etc. . . , and so on. Ergo, if everyone showed a pic of that new bolt on, the board would look like the ITR forum. Don't take it the wrong way, ask a "how do I get my Civic to rotate" and 20 folks will offer a constructive answer.
Take care and best of luck with the car.
P.S. Yes all the names are made up to protect the locals.

maybe its a Canadian Si (the SiR) w/ and he swapped for some pre '99 tail lights!
LOL.
I'm inpartial w/ the wing. Seems like in Japan everybody has a GT wing, but most of the cars their can back up their look

Now we understand why you put on the rice wing. To get rid of the horrible understeer and body roll we see in the picture! j/k - sorta.

LOL, you don't need springs when you have that much downforce with a wing because you'll stay so flat around the curves.
Didn't ya'll know that?

Correct, I applaud the autox effort, but the wing just cracks me up.
At what age does one wake up and say, "Damn that's a pointless and ugly addition to my car."
BTW-- I had a 91 Z24 5-spd. Good cars in their day.

Funny. Chris Cobetto (NASA) and I had a discussion about just this type of thing last night. Sometimes spending money on big, shiney things is simply a lack of taste. But mostly, especially with the younger Honda crowd, it's just plain youth.
It's the need to stand out and be original.
How many of us put stupid **** on our cars when we were in our teens and early twenties? I'm going to date myself here, but I remember coughing up the extra cash for raised white letter tires when I was 16. Just had to have 'em. Made my blue 1975 Ford Maverick look... well... like a Maverick with expensive tires.
Tastes will change as folks get older. These days I could give a **** about looks and would (and have) spend hundreds of dollars for 5 horsepower.
The person who owns this car has discovered motorsports and is likely hooked. The wing will disappear as soon as he (she?) discovers it slows him down on the back straight at VIR.
All that said. I still reserve the right to verbally spank anyone that lowers a Type R 4 inches and gets stuck on a speed bump in the Kroger parking lot.
Adam - Greatness as usual my friend
