Default HC Hizzyfest Summit Point....Engine gone WiLD

Well......

when this happens.....

this is what went wrong....

intake ports on #4......all of this happend on #1

Long story short....catastrophic engine failure....dropped a valve....not sure when it went but we noticed power was down last week....compression checked ohkay....we thought it was just the HEAT AND HUMIDITY that caused the lower numbers....you win some you lose some....this past weekend was a big loss for the R & D fast and furious team....we will be back for vir....maybe in h4 cause that's the only engine we have sitting around....

would like to thank dave, ian, and daniel for all the help setting up the car and such.....for those of you not there, we had the head off in about 20 minutes.....when work needs to be done this crew really knows how to do it...and i appreciate it greatly....also would like to thank pete and his wife gail for opening their home to us and for the great food they provided!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE WILL SEE YOU AT VIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! H1 i'm gonna roll you in a sohc vtec engine!!!! hehehe

Wow. . .thats too bad, those pct slugs probably come awfully close to the valves. Hopefully you'll be at VIR with another twincam.

That was a glorious plume of smoke you left down around the carousel! Hope you still had a good weekend despite the engine failure and that you can whip something up quick for next time around!

Valve dropped.

Head broke off.

Chewed the piston into something that looks like a tuna can. Remember the pistons are aluminum.

Metal shavings sucked back through the intake and into the other cyls.

...and I thought this was just the fireworks lighting off from our stop at South of the Border....wishful thinking, I guess. We'll be back for VIR, though.

OMFG.

In my 36 years on this planet, most of them spent around cars, I have never seen a piston that chewed up.

Your block looks OK though so at least its not a total loss

It looks like you blew the welds on your intake manifold

That really sucks.
