Default Ground Control Setups......

Ok Guys,
i finally got all my parts and the install is going in soon. I was looking at the koni's and the front has 2 rings and back 3. Which should I use to install my ground controls? I have the stock GC rates. I was thinking of lowering the car like 1.5". Is this a good height? The car is daily driven and autocrossed heavily (every other weekend). When I install the koni/GC should I have an alignment? I know when lowering it I will gain some good camber, but wont the toe get knocked out? Is there a easy way to do this myself? I know how to adjust the tie-rods, but how do you measure toe? Thanks!

I recommend using the stock height ring. I think it was the lower on the fronts and middle on the rears. Going too low on Konis (more than 2") can run into problems like me hitting the bumps stops since I was dropped 2.5" DOH!

I agree completely w/ Michael -- use the stock ride height settings on the Konis. Given that you're pairing the Konis w/ GC coilovers, you've got more than enough ride height adjustability there and, consequently, don't need to muck around w/ the Koni perch settings.

Mine was fine afterwards, a lil pull to the right, but the car still drove straight for about a half a mile with no hands on it.

Mine only moved very slightly, not enough to really worry about it at this point, I will fix it when I get a machine alignment after I get my camber kit

I have the stock GC rates.
What rates are those?

I lowered mine an inch in the front and 2 in the rear, 1.5 wont be a bad drop, depends on what kind of tires you are running for clearance issues, and you have a long way before riding on the bump stops come into play. other than that you should be fine

I am running the stock 195/55/15 Rims and kuhmo 712's. So rubbing shouldn't be an issue. How low is 1" drop? How many fingers between the tire and fender? I know I can use string and a jig to meaure toe, can anyone elaborate on how to do this? So it sounds like I am going to do a lot of playing to get this setup.... Any more help or ideas is greatly appreciated!

Is it advised to have different heights between Front and Back?

Maybe. You should set all four corners such that you get good suspension travel, and they you should have the car corner balanced.

A 1" drop is about 2 fingers (or about 1.5" between the fender and the top of the tire). A 2" drop is about 1 finger (or about .75" between the fender and the top of the tire)
