F20b or K20z3
Hi people!!!
It would be better to race track, a K20Z3 or F20Bjdm in to Acura Integra 99, power to weight formula in any of the two engines the weight of 2300 pounds is still, I understand that a k20 implies spending more than mount a F20B, but that's not the problem, I wonder what it is with which would give more performance. An important point is that our races are sprint, and the most important we race with stock motor, not allow modification of any kind, only the electronics can be modified!!!.
K20Z3:
2006-2011 Honda Civic Si (FG2 - Coupe & FA5 - Sedan), 2007-2010 Acura CSX Type-S
Displacement : 1,998 cc (121.9 cu in)
Compression : 11:1
Power: 197 bhp (147 kW) @ 7800 rpm (sae NET Rev 8/04)
Torque: 139 lb·ft (189 N·m) @ 6200 rpm (sae NET Rev 8/04)
Redline: 8000 rpm
Fuel Cutoff: 8500 rpm
i-VTEC Engagement Window:6000 rpm
F20b:
Valve train: four-cylinder, DOHC VTEC, 16-valve
Bore: 85.0 mm
Stroke: 88.0 mm
Displacement: 1997 cc
Torque: 145 lb·ft (197 N·m) @ 5500 rpm
Horsepower: 197 hp (147 kW) @ 7000 rpm
Red line: 7400 rpm
Compression: 11.0:1
Fuel control: OBD-2

You ask this question with out telling anybody about your tracking experience.
If you have none or little buy a cheaper engine and learn learn learn.
No sense over powering a car that you haven't even learned to drive yet.
Learn to drive with less power and hone your racecraft.
Overpowering a car with little or no experience will only teach you bad habits.

dirty 19 said it right. a b16 is plenty get out there and work on lap times. Beating high horsepower cars around the track is not uncommon with a low powered honda.
that said... K20Z3 > F20B.
Not to take anything away from the old swaps however. If we're talking H2B... especially H23 / ITR transmisson... Now thats a very underrated setup.

I'd go for the F20 in a F2B configuration, because blocks are cheaper to change when they blow.
I personally went for a H23 VTEC motor (cheap, and 95mm stroke stock) before I sold my car.
I'll let the powerband talk for itself...it was seriously mean for a stock motor.

Re: F20b or K20z3
If the money is not a problem , don't see only the "sales data".. the K series engine is on top.
Not only for the 6 gear box , the reliabillity , the performance capable on it and the aftermaket size is many times better on K series engines than F.
Trying a F20B today , it's a decision for "cheap" budgets or nostalgic people.
