I am in the process of shopping for a set of pads for the coming summer. Last year, i had alot of trouble with brakes cause it always overheated on me!! This year, i plan on buying better pads hoping history would not repeat itself. I have done some research and many has recommended hawk blue as the pad of choice. The only problem to this is that i would need to swap pads and rotors evertime i hit the track which is very troublesome. Does anyone know if there is a Endless pad that will function just as well as the Hawk blue yet, daily drivable? I am already using Motul RBF 600. Thanks.
Up at the top of the page on the right hand side there's a link that says "Search." You should click on it.
Since you asked...Carbotech Panther Plus. And not many of us (none of us?) have ever used Endless pads.

Do you still have the stock brakes on that thing?
There's no pad that does everything. Pather + pads are closest, but since they work best when they have some heat in them, the first couple of cold stops in the morning will be interesting. Plus, I've noticed a tendency to squeal under light line pressure (easy-moderate stops). They'll work on the street, but not ideal IMO.
The 3 most popular track pads: Hawk Blue, Carbotech Panther +, and Porterfield R4.
I have never heard or seen anyone take Endless pads on track. There might be a reason for that....

OK.....after some calculations, it would be impossible to buy Carbotechs panther plus. Since i live in Canada, the shipping, taxes, brokage fees, and duties will end up costing more than endless pads!! So this narrows me down to 2 choices, Hawk blues or Endless MA11.....any inputs??

Oh and if you haven't already, rid yourself of those heat retainers...I mean, splash guards on the rotors. That'll help a little.
Go with the blues...is nepean near ottawa? I drive at shanonville a lot and have no complaints about the blues. Why are you ordering from the us (shipping brokrage fees etc its just too much) get them from Toronto or there must be a race shop in ottawa. I don't know about the endless but I wouldn't want to spend money on a pad that no one has any idea about. If you want a pad for street and track you might want to try Hawk HP+, for me they squealed a lot but worked ok on the track. Now I use Blue though.
You don't have to totaly remove the brake shield you can trim most of it off with metal shears but may(its up to you) want to leave small sections around the lower ball joint and tie-rod end intact to help shield the balljoint & boot from heat.

I'll have to leave that to someone that actually has a GS-R. Scott, Karl, how'd you guys remove those things?
If that doesn't work...you're gonna have to pull the steering knuckle off the axle. That isn't hard - you'll need to pop the lower ball joint, and remove the big axle nut, and it'll slide right off the axle, granting you access to the screws holding the shields on. That's the way to do it if you don't want to cut the shields.
I will try that once winter goes away!!

That is right! Shannonville is the track i hit......i have been up in Montreal (St. Estauche) as well, but it's not as good. I have only been on Fabi in Shannonville but this coming season, i willl hit Nelson as well! Should of seen the smoke pouring out of the brakes the last couple times i was at Shannonville....man enough is enough....Endless MA11s on order!

Cool maybe I'll see you at a lapping day or somthing, how much were the endless?
Yeah $250 is around the right price unfortunately. I managed to get a set of blues for cost last year $180 cn but thats not going to happen again this year. I might try PFC pads and see how they are. I go with different people to lapping days...whoever is cheap and gives the most amount of time. sometimes this group http://www.geocities.com/image_racing1 maybe I'll come out to one of your days.
Maybe Matt can mail me a set then I don't have to pay outrageous brokerage fees
Blues will set me back $120 US shipped to my door.
