Default CoilOver / Spring question

I know this has been asked and answered at least a dozen times, so instead of flaming me, just point me to the right link.

I'm getting a shock setup for an 97 Civic EX with a GSR brake conversion. This car is used for daily driving and track whoring.
I was planning on getting a set of Koni yellows with some Skunk2 coilovers. Is this an optimal track worthy setup or should I just go with springs rather than coilovers. I don't really understand the difference between them except that one is adjustable. Can someone fill me in?
