Catch 22 Mad Frogs on Memorial Day
May 13, 2005. For Immediate Happy Ending - Catch 22 Autosport and Mad Frog Racing announced today that they are teaming up to field a two car effort for the 2005 Memorial Monster Endurance Race at Carolina Motorsports Park. The team will field 2 drivers per car for the 2 hour and 5 minute race.
The number 99 ITA Civic will be piloted by Sebastien "Seabass" Richard and Scott "I'll Keep Pretending I Know What I'm Doing For As Long As Neccessary" Giles. When asked the plan of attack for the race Giles responded with "Don't wreck the froggy." Richard added "Figure out where turn 1 is located."
After a slight driver lineup change at Daytona, the #22 ITC car will once again be piloted by the regular 2005 team of Renee Hines and Karl Shultz. The car is undefeated in 2005, with Hines piloting it with both Shultz and Giles as co-drivers. When asked for comment on the 2 car effort with Richard, Hines responded "Who the hell is Richard Sebastien?" and "If he's sharing my car he'd better not suck."
Shultz could not be reached for comment. It is assumed that he's still searching for a 1985 Civic drivers side door.
The team is excited about the race and looks forward to yet another weekend in beautiful and scenic Kershaw South Carolina, the original home of chicken wire covered gauges, "mama n' nhem," "cal-lip-pers," and Karl Shultz's famous nickname.

Ooops, thats right.
Kershaw is also the home of the Busted Sprocket Award.
And the whole "Bandcamp" fiasco.
Scott, who says "Somehow that place always turns out to be fun."

Re: Catch 22 Mad Frogs on Memorial Day (o-man)
The actual plan of attack for Richard once turn one has been found and properly labeled on his in-car map will be to tuck in behind car #22 in the turns and bump draft them in the straights. "That way," Richard added, "I can say in the good graces of Hines and avoid having a shoe stuck up my ***."
The entire team will be found at lunch time eating boiled peanuts and pan-fried frog legs while basking in the glory of the southern weather. Everyone is invited to join in.
Also, information has been requested concerning a mysterious set of booby trapped bed sheets at the Ececutioner Inn. Any information may be rewarded.

Sadly I will miss all the fun. SPiFF Racing Management has pulled us out of the CMP date. Something about long weekend and going somewhere nice ....

The "executioner"?
Even though I do not think they like the racer types there.... we get threatened with ejection from the hotel every time I have been there.

I plan to make Karl tell you this story during dinner Sunday evening. I promise it will be a struggle for you to keep boiled peanuts from coming out your nose.
And I'm armed with an ITA car, a GOOD ITA car, for this race. I aint worried about no asshat Spec Miatas.
Scott, looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot.

Re: Catch 22 Mad Frogs on Memorial Day (Crack Monkey)
I am picking up a 2005 4x4 Cummins Turbo-D 6-speed at the end of the week.
Rationalization: I need 4 doors for the kids and a longer bed to haul stuff with.
Truth: I really wanted a manual tranny, and another diesel. Besides, I am paying about $10k below MSRP...

It's not a proper night at CMP if you're not staying at the Executioner and dinner at Gus' Pizza...again. Step up to the Stromboli. It'll hurt at first, but you'll thank me for it later.
OK, you might not thank me.

Re: Catch 22 Mad Frogs on Memorial Day (krshultz)
$49 a night and 10 minutes from the track. Plus the hopping Kershaw nightlife... Whats not to like?
Honestly some of the funniest **** I've ever seen has happened at the Executioner. And it has typically involved Karl in one way or another.
Remember the brake caliper bolt???
How about the theme from "Sanford and Son?"
And of course... The Phantom Sheet Stain.
Scott, who can down a whole Gus' Stromboli and be OK... Mostly.
