hi guys, its about time for me to get a set of new tyres, since i drove way too hard last weekend up hill all 4 corners of the Falken ST115 will need some replacement.
at first i was thinking of Advan AD07, but those are too expensive.about CDN 180 a piece here for 195/50/15 (exchange rate from NT to CDN)..
for some reason i got hook up with a person that own a shop, and hes offering me a good deal of bridgestone tyres. Did anyone experienced with RE01 before? Rating? how well does it last? the guy is offering me at about $110CDN a piece with same size i mentioned above. or i can get S-03 with slightly lower price, around 100 CDN..
BUT.. i have experienced S-03 on a 400hp Evolution V on track before. Its NOT that good IMO, the wall seems not as rigid then S-02, it turns like a split second late, screaming like a b!tch too, doesnt last long enough and the thread pattern looks like its for luxury car then sports car..
any inputs will be welcome.. (Im also considering RE711 but those are made in Thailand.. UGH),
p.s. a Toyo TPGU comes in mind, got a 'not bad' feedback from a friend..but i dont know...

I have some S-03s on my daily driven 01 325i. They work really well. Just got back from the NASA HPDE event at Willow Springs this weekend and they held up pretty good. It was very hot too. I will use them on all my street cars untill Bridgestone has a replacement for them.

for the north american market, the S-03 is the best street tire that BS makes.
it's a very good tire, but if you don't like em, you don't like em.
some of the REXXX potenzas aren't bad, but the s03 is better.

I also agree with the S-03's. I have a set on my 01 Prelude that saw normal (if you can call it that!)driving and track days. The S-03's are great, but are a very soft compound. I needed to replace them after just under a year of use. I will buy them again just for street use.

I could be wrong but I think the RE 010 was the OEM tire for the Integra TypeR. If that is the one you are talking about those are a pretty good tire but dont last long. I absolutely love the S03, though. It may not have the ultimate dry grip of some of the other top tires but it fricking loves the RAIN!! Best all around performance tire for the street AFAIC.
