I think its also the only "safe" one because its sealed and vented to the outside.
Check your sanctioning bodies' rules regarding re-location.
but FWIW, I had 10 deep cycle batteries in the trunk of my 84 olds before.. I never had "fume problems".

It depends on the sanctioning body..
I know that Moroso box is NHRA legal, and Taylor makes a legal box as well..

i should be more specific then: for SCCA (solo2). i've seen coupes/sedans use the typical cheap "marine" style boxes. i have emailed SCCA about hatchbacks specifically. i'll post when i find out what the word is.

Do you even need a box if you get a sealed, gel-cel battery? Many times you do not, not sure about SCCA Solo.
I was surprised at how big that box is... you could fit two or three civic batteries inside of it.
