Default Auto-x alignment?

I'm fixing to pick up an extra set of rims for the R so now I'm thinking about alignment changes before events since I won't be using up my daily driven tires going to and from the track. I don't know much about it in terms of what is radical and not. What is a good setup to start with for a stock R? I will have to drive it to the track so I need some stability. Oh and can I trust just any place or should they be using a certain type of equipment? Thanks.

Ususally most honda respond well to 1/8 total toe out in the front and 0 total toe in the rear.

I've been autocrossing an itr for three years and I haven't touched the alignment yet. Maybe it could help, but the car just handles so well as it is that I'm afraid to screw it up. A popular autox setup is 1/8th toe out front, 0 rear as someone mentioned and that's what I set on my talon.

Yeah, but Alex is a super-driver... he could probably drive a pinto and win DS class. Ok, maybe that's a bit far fetched.

Brock - are you planning on running race tires? If just sticking with street tires, I would do 1/8 out on the front like what other's suggested. However, I agree with Brock that an R is a very well setup car from the factory.

I have my car set to 0 toe front and back for the street. When I get to the autocross I rotate one tie rod two full rotations (guessing about 1/8 toe out). The steering wheel will sit crooked but when you're done reverse the rotations and the toe will be set back to 0 and the steering wheel will be centered agiain.

Whatever it comes out to be the car turns in far better then it used to eliminating a lot of the push I used to have in turns.

I had the toe adjusted and the steering response was much improved. I would recomend it.

Go to a place with good equipment and perferably a place that knows the sport. Call your SCCA region executive and ask if any shops in the area offer special autocross services.
