Default ALIGNMENT SPECS?

1995 Del Sol VTEC. only used for auto-x and driving to the event. i dont have any camber kits. car is on stock shocks(yucky) and ground control coilovers. dont know the height because i just did it this weekend and have not even driven it more than a mile, much less played with the height. right now it is on the 12th ring from the bottom-all four corners. at this height, the rear lca's are horizontal. searched-951 archived posts. question 1-what height? question 2-what toe(front and rear)? question 3_what camber(front and rear)? question 4-should i get a camber kit(what brand is not crap) for the front so i can slide it closer to 0 for the ride home from the event? should i buy a camber kit for the rear or use the washer trick?

Del Sol in Charlotte? Were you at the last CCR event at Knights Stadium? I was driving the green STS2 CRX. Now on your questions:

On the CRX I run -3 degrees camber in the front and -1.6 in the rear. Front toe is -1/8" (1/8" out) and zero toe in the rear. I've got an 7/8" rear bar and a CRX Hf (hollow) front bar. I've got an Ingall's camber kit in the front to keep the camber even and I have a a few washers under one of the rear upper control arms to keep the rears the same on both sides. What spring rates are you running? I'm at 400f/450r with Koni shocks. Ride height is around 4-1/2" measured at the jack tabs under the rockers, you just want to be sure the shocks aren't bottoming.

A lot of STS cars don't run any camber adjusters, they just use the camber they gain from lowering. Don't believe the hype, camber is not the big killer of tires. It doesn't help but the biggest thing that will kill a set of tires is toe. If you're concerned with tire wear get your alignment guy to show you how to adjust the tie rods and how far to turn them to get the settings you want.

if its a track/auto x only car then id invest in a front and rear camber kit. As long as the rules allow it.

1. what spring rates are you using? im guessing 450f/350r (i think thats the gc standard off the shelf rate)

as for ride height. i love the look of my car when it looks low (just under 1 finder gap all around). any lower and they dont ride or handle as good. If i measure from the lower wheel lip to the top of the fender, my car measures 19 5/8's all around.

i run -3 degree's up front and anywhere from -1.8 to 2 degrees out back.

for toe, Zero or 1/8th out front and the zero in the back.

ive got koni yellows (sp3's) with 650/900 ground control springs. 24mm front bar and comptech 22 (full stiff) out back.

id definetly get a camber kit, so u can get the car nicely dialed in.

yeah, that was me. you had the green crx with the rpf1's. i gave you some tape. sounds like where i have the height now should be fine. have you had any problems with your ingals kit? or anyone else have any recommendations? good place to get a good price on it? i could not get into the other sandbox last night-anyone else have a problem? thanks for the advice guys.

I've been real happy with the Ingall's kit but there aren't a lot of choices for the EF. I think there is only one kit with the adjustable upper ball joint, the rest are like the Ingalls kit with adjustable upper control arm anchors. Not the easiest to work with but a good alignment guy shouldn't have any trouble. I actually bought mine from a west coast STS driver when he decided to stay with teh stock anchors. Of course that car has won Nationals for the last two years so YMMV...

The "other site"| is having server issues, it pops back up occasionally but is still on the fritz most of the time. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
