Head or Bottom first? Because someone told me to run hotter cams, you need better comp. Well for Jun 3's.

First define 'road race'. Most of that short list of parts is illegal for most racing classes.

If you really do want to go road racing decide what racing series you want to compete in first, buy a rulebook and follow that.

That said, if you really want to go racing and arent just a spoon stunna (which i think you are), you'll need to upgrade in this order:

1. Driver
2. Driver
3. Driver
4. Tires/Brakes
5. Driver
6. Suspension
7. Driver
8. Engine

'Road Racing' Is also not what you see in the Best Motoring videos, either...

before anyone can answer that, you have to say what type of "roadracing" you plan to do... without that info, everything's a guess...

intake, t-body, intake manifold, port polished head cams..upgraded valve stuff....

Unless you are running some wicked Hybrid or production class none of the above is legal.

Please define "road racing" and tell us what sanctioning body you are going to race under.

Don't spend another penny on the engine until you have done suspension....

Have you road raced before?

Find out rules for your class before you go messing with it.

I wouldn't suggest any engine mods if you haven't raced before.

shaggy paul S from clubvtec runs tcra i believe, whatever his class is, he is allowed mods.if i was u i wouldnt worry about mods yet, just drive..come with me to speedtrials on the 27th and youll see what im talkin about...watch a vehicle outfitted with all the cool "jdm" parts get that *** handed to them by someone in a d16a6 powered crx si with gobs of driving skill.

and like i told u..different rules pertain to different classes. i recommend u just go to open track events for now and have fun.

Not only are "illegal" modifications dependent on what class you're racing in, but answering your original question depends on what class you're racing in. There are classes that allow the sort of modifications you mentioned, but you better be prepared to either get spanked, or prepared to dedicate the better part of your time and income preparing the car.

The reason that people are assuming that the parts list is illegal is because classes that most of us can afford to race in don't allow that sort of stuff. Still, the list of classes that DO allow those mods is pretty dang short.

Either way, you'll have to answer "what class?"

Just go drive. Worry about your motor later and save that money for tires and brake pads. I can't tell you how many higher horsepower cars waive me by with just a single cam Civic. They're not happy about it, but they still keep sticking their arm out the window.
