AEM big brake kit or wilwood kit?
I'd like to get more stopping power up front...and since my rotors need to be turned...and i can get either an AEM or wilwood kit for a very nice price...it's a good time to upgrade. I'm just wondering which kit people would pick if you were in my shoes. I drive an RSX-S...autoX every other weekend...but am mostly street driving.

leave it stock, put in good pads and fluid... a bigger brake kit will not make the car stop faster. Better tires and pads will though.

upgrade to the fastbrake 11 inch kit with the wilwood calipers....hawk pads can be had for 40-50 per set....this is half price of what you are going to pay for normal GOOD pads...in 10 sets of pads you have paid for teh brake kit....
i ran hawk blues daily driven....killed 2 sets of rotors in 90 days (autozone warrenty rocks)

Bigger brakes will throw your car into a different class for SCCA. I was running ST-S and ended up in ST-X with my Fastbrakes Wilwood kit. Although because of that, I took 1st in the 2002 Sacramento Cup Championship.

it doesn't really have a large issue, but i know that since the weight shifts forward when i'm slowing down, by having more stopping power up front, i can inturn, add a higher friction brake pad in the rear. thus eliminating any brake bias issue that i might have created.
What pads will last w/o making lots of noise or dust? or w/o killing my rotors? people have suggested hawk...what about carbontech?

The brake bias is already set to account for the forward shift in momentum, so I would suggest against altering the balance between available forces between the front and rear tires.
One thing I was thinking is that the behavior is already slightly altered when you add more aggressive suspension pieces. The front end applies less downward pressure on the front tires during braking (as brake dive is reduced). I would think that this would make the ideal brake balance (f/r) closer to the rear, and simply adding larger front calipers will not help much.
The only thing large calipers do is make your tires lock faster. Brake fade can be reduced with larger pads, also. Ideally, pedal feel and travel should improve as well, but it may not if you don't have everything setup harmoniously. Remember, your MC is sized to work with your stock calipers.

Re: AEM big brake kit or wilwood kit? (GSpeedR)
I will add a comment about why I chose to move to the Willwood big brake kit. I drive an E/P autocross 93 GSR and by going to the Wilwood kit I was able to reduce my unsprung weight 8 lbs at each front corner. For my situation the change over was well worth the effort and cost. I have no idea what the AEM kit weights but the Wilwood kit is substantially lighter than stock components. The dis advantage is I had to have custom 15" wheels built to fit over the 12.19" rotors.
