Using it on an ls vtec for road racing.

Thanks in advance guys.

If you are trying to be competitive, might wanna look at the rule book for the group you run with. SCCA book dampers arnt allowed in the lower classes. I don't want to be quote you bad info so i won't get to specific. Anyways, i am just out to go as fast as i can and don't care what class i'm in. I went with new motor mounts and couldn't be happier. I think i would have been disapointed with a damper.

I prefer the ATI over the Fluidampr. Either way, better than stock and you can't go wrong, but based up on tests against each other the ATI handled better at HIGH rpms. For the V8 guys etc which don't rev that high, they would never see a difference between the two, but our engines are different and will go past 6k on rev's unlike a lot of the domestic guys :p It seemed like the better choice for Honda specific applications.

Agreed!

I just got my ATI today and I must say...they are a little pricey.

Hope I didn't waste my money...wouldn't be the first time, lol.

Wondering if anybody has actually noticed a benefit, either through extra power, new found reliability or anything else.

BTW...there is nothing in my series' rule book that is stopping me from using it

Well, you will see a difference in reliability. Think of how fast the crank spins in the engine, there have been many failures because of the solid aluminum CTR N1, AEM etc pulleys. It has been said that you lose HP using a junk solid or OEM pulley, but the HP isn't really "gained". It is instead *not lost* due to inferior dampening. The amount of diference though means only something on the dyno sheet. It is like an intake, a strut bar, etc. Those are things that you cannot feel the difference of, as with a crank pulley, it is all about the peace of mind and knowingness that your engine has a better chance in longevity using such a device and not cheaping out with a "lightweight" 20 dollar ebay pulley.

Ya I feel ya.

Seems like there isn't many...if any people using these things though.

I got it for insurance, but I was hoping to hear of some concrete proof that they actually work.

The proof is concrete, look at any testing done between stock + ATi or Fluidampr

Doesn't matter what motor it is on v8 or inline 4, crank still spins at high RPM and these devices take a lot of the vibration away that would come with an undampened or poorly designed pulley like the Professional Products one.

People have had one-off models made by ATI and Fluidampr for Dseries from what I have read over the years (I assume they were not bs'ing), so I am sure it is possible, they probably don't think the demand is there though to produce it as a shelf stocked part.

The damper comes seperate from the hub so any decent machinist can make you the appropriate hub for your crank.

I called the guys at ATI and they recommended a damper based on rpm range and stroke.

After that it's just a matter of bolting the damper to the hub.
