Kiwi, why does a person need adjustable caster on a track car? How does caster adjustment weigh in for a LSD or non-LSD FWD setup like on our hondas?

I guess the short answer is really you don't! Unless you want to adjust from track to track.
The idea is that the more static Positive Caster you can start off with, the more Negative camber that will be generated in turns. So instead of having say 3.5 to 4degrees of Static Negative camber which reduces your tire contact patch in a straight line or under braking, and can also cause a lot of darting, diving, and excitement if you run an agressive LSD. You can have less Static negative camber, but still achieve the optimum contact patch when turning.
As mentioned ealier in the thread, you reach a point of diminishing return, where the other factors like axel alignment and CVwear come into play. Those of us who have been around for a while generally agree, if you can get 4 degrees positive caster on a Honda without any other adverse effects then be happy.

Thank you Kiwi for that explanation.
So how does total suspension travel play into this?
Tight suspensions with less total travel in them vs. softer suspension setups with more total travel.
