It was a great event! Hillclimbs are a blast to drive AND watch!
It was a shame the weather turned sour on sunday! I can't wait for the Rock Creek Hillclimb - next month!

Shane says "also" because he did a GREAT job. After I'd seen a few of our comparable times, I realized, "Damn - that's a DX."
K
PS - the weather was a mixed blessing. There was no chance of improving Saturday times but, on the other hand, nobody wanted to run so we got tons of time on the road. I made 9 timed runs on Sunday for a total of 12 - one less than Bill Koff in his Elise, who held the record at 13.

Re: (redzcstandardhatch)
LOL. You car sounded like the deck of a creaking old wooden ship backing out of the grass in that agricultural excursion. Arrrggghhh matey.
That looks like a lot of fun and would feed the WRC "fantasy" (ok delusion).

Re:
Well, I had to bring this video back. 1995 Chimneyrock Hillclimb. Damn 10 years ago.
Car: 1986 Honda Civic 4dr
Engine: 1985 CRX Si built with twin side drafts
Class: GT4
Quality of the video sucks due to the age and the fact that it was recorded on VHS-C, which probably most of you younger guys don't even know what that is.

This wouldn't be out of the red one you used to tow in the back of the Ryder cube van would it?

Hey Oscar, how are you doing?
Yes you are right, however at the time it had a set of 88 Integra pistons and a cam similar to the Mugen. The carbs were the 40mm Mikunis but I later went to 45mm Webers which work much better. I still have 2 intake manifolds for that engine if anyone is interested, one brand new.

Jeremy,
We're pretty lucky up here in the northwest to have apx 8 of these events per year. Just about any car is eligable, they're classed similar to Auto-x.
check out http://www.nhahillclimb.org/ for more info.
I was going to try out Larison Rock this year but vacation plans are getting in the way:

Re: *Incar video* from Blue Ridge Hillclimb (Louie B.)
The NHA hills ARE more impressive than the Blue Ridge - no question. There was a radar gun at Larison's CP4 - the exit of what we called Curva Grande - and the top speeds in our classs (DSP/CSP) were in the low- to mid-80s. Very interesting. I miss those roads but am glad that we have a growing hillclimb program in the SE.

Here's an aerial map of the Rock Creek Hillclimb:
The two switch-backs towards the top allow you to see the road from across the valley - awesome view!
