Icon4 How to Install Your Redtiger Dash Cam: Step-by-Step Guide

Redtiger dashcams are designed for easy installation and are compatible with the vast majority of vehicle models.

Most Redtiger dashcams use a Type-C car charger with a USB port, and the main unit is connected to the rear camera via a cable. Except for parking monitoring, all other dashcam functions can be activated through a simple and quick installation. You can install it yourself without needing to visit a dealer. We provide all the necessary tools for installation, including the adhesive pad, electrostatic sticker, and trim tool.

How to Mount the Dash Cam

The first step is to choose a suitable location on your windshield for installing the dashcam. We recommend placing it behind the rearview mirror so that it does not obstruct your view while driving.

The mounts of the main unit and the rear camera can be secured to the windshield using an electrostatic sticker and an adhesive pad, and the main unit can slide on and off the mount easily.

Before attaching the mounts, please make sure the installation area is clean and dry.

Some Redtiger dashcams, such as the F7NP, use a suction cup mount. You can refer to the following video for installation instructions.

How to Connect the Power Cable and Hide the Wires

After installing the dashcam, it needs to be connected to a power source. Connect the dashcam's car charger to the cigarette lighter or 12V power outlet, and then connect the other end to the dashcam.
Next, use a trim tool to route the cable along the front windshield and roof, tucking the power cable into the A-pillar to keep it out of the driver's sight.

Connect the rear camera to the main unit with the cable. Route the cable neatly along the gaps between the front windshield and roof, along the gap between the roof and the side of the passenger seat, and above the rear seats to keep it hidden and out of the way.

Once the installation steps above are completed, all dashcam functions except for parking mode can be used. Make sure all cameras and cables are connected and the SD card is inserted into the main unit before turning on the dashcam screen; otherwise, the dashcam may not operate properly.
