Started sanding the body today on my civic to paint. Its taking for freaking ever with a block sander and a lil muscle power. PLEASE some one tell me there is an easier way???? The rate that its going I may get to paint in in 2025!

yeah...why are you doing do much sanding?

Air tools make sanding go 100 times faster, but the block sanding is for final sanding to make sure your panels are straight.

use a da (dual action) grider. it feathers better and sands a lot faster. why are you taking it down so far. paint only needs to be taken to metal when bodywork is needed. what is already on there is usually the best to adhear to. if you take it down to bare metal its going to cause you more work sanding and spraying (etch primer for example).

as every1 has said....dnt need to go that far down UNLESS the paints is over 12 mils i think...but i have never seen it be that thick

yeah i agree with everyone else... get some air tools.. save manual sanding (blocking) for final sanding when you're ready for color

i use to do it by hand, but now i have a little power sander, works like a charm.

from my experience i nver go down that far unless i have to fix some dents .. but hey who am i to judge, its ur car.. good luck.. oh one more thing if ur going to sand the whole car down to the metal make sure dont expose it to water or that thing will turn into a RUST BUCKET!!!!
