rust stopper?
This is probably a strange or maybe even "Stupid" question, but...
I have bad rust spot forming over my rear wheel wells, I tried sanding away the rust and priming them but the rust grew back and ate through the primer basically.. I've been busy with school and have not had time to see to these things, and would like to try to do something about the unsightly spots when I go home this weekend.
Are there any paste or chemical products that I can apply to stop the rust in some way? Is there anything I can do short of grinding down the metal till all the rust is gone? I'm afraid it may be kinda deep at this point
Thank you for your time and not flaming me because I did attempt to search.

i have the same problem, all i do is spray rust preventer on it. You might be in too deep, you might have to cut it all out then weld some metal in there. Just thinking. I heard of this chemical that you spray on rust and it makes a reaction to get rid of the rust or something.
but bump for some more ideas.

My car that I'm redoing has some rust spots as well. What I did was sand blast the area that the rust is working on. Then I sprayed some rust converter on it. I then sprayed primer on it. Eventually I will put bondo in where it ate through and the deeper spots and then prime it again. So far on what I did it has worked great.
Nothing stops rust. Nothing. If its weakening the metal you need to cut out the panels and weld in new ones. Im currently in the process. PM me if you want some pictures. Its very very time consuming.
Rust on outer panels must be cut out. Having to many coatings with conflicting makeups will only lift or blister the paint later down the road. I've found that por 15 works the best for rust on frames/floors/non-exterior panels etc.
i was kinda lookin for somethin i could pick up in a local store sometime soon. this car is urkin me right now, I'm glad it's still runnin, it just could look a bit better
