remove dent on bumper
is there a way to remove a dent on plastic bumper? Seems like someone took a baseball bat and hit my rear bumper, now there is circular dent about the size of a tennis ball, but not very deep.
I tried the old fashion way; took off the bumper and bang from the inside out, but it's plastic so my hammer just bounce right back.
anyhelp?

Use a heat gun to get the plastic warm, slowly work the dent out. May need to use some plastic repair, leave the dent a little low and fill it like you would on metal body striaghtening.
Basically just get a heat gun, warm the area that is dented in (keep in mind that if the bumper is too warped, it will need to be replaced). When the plastic starts to get soft, start working it out with your hands. Keep an eye on it and make sure you aren't pushing it out too far, you're gonna want a little low spot. Before or after you get done working the indentation out, sand the area down with a DA sander and some 320 grit sand paper, make sure to feather the repair area out well.
You're gonna need these products, something to clean the area with (water based wax and grease remover), adhesion promoter, and bumper repair material (ex. Lord Fuser), a spreader, paint products (primers). Clean the area well with the wax and grease remover and let dry. When that's dry, spray on the adhesion promoter and let that dry about 10-15 mins. Then you will need to mix your fuser product (usually it is a 2 part epoxy, comes with hardner), after mixing the fuser completely spread it over your low spot, you can take it right to the edge of the area you feathered out. Let the fuser dry fully, then start sanding to level it out.
After you are satisfied with your body work, you will need to spray the repair area with a filler primer. This primer will fill any low spots, pin holes, etc... Spray 2-3 wet coats, waiting about 10-15 mins between coats. Let primer dry fully and wet sand with 600 or 800 grit. After you get the primer filler sanded, you are ready to prep the bumper for paint (sealer, BC/CC)
