Default Project RHD

my RHD project, conversion was done prior to me taking ownership, Vsmhatched did the conversion and its literally flawless!!!! now i will be adding my own touches to it and making it as close to perfect as possible.

I'll start with some pictures before i ever touched it. Yes RHD conversion was performed by Vsmhatched.

here are some progress pictures. my ultimate goal is to have a badd *** head turning summertime only dailt driver LOL. estimated completion date is set for may 24 2010 my birth day present to myself. i manage a body shop so i have all the resorces, now i just need the funds haha

started with a few OEM goodies from honda to pretty much complete the engine bay, over flow tank and bracket, prop rod clip, and radiator bushing

close up of the hardware i used to mount the overflow, yes all engine bay hardware will be matched stainless washers and allen headed bolts EVERYWHERE

passenger side 1/4 had some door dings and minor rust that i cut out patched with metal and door skin glue then applied filler to make smooth

once i was happy with it i applied 3 coats of BASF primer 10 minutes flash time between coats

there was some surface rust/crap build up where the gate mount to the hinges so i used this handy dandy combo to clean all off!!!

BEFORE:

AFTER:

the gate is finished just waiting for primer.

basf products are the best IMO. not to much of an update, i did strip 75% of the interior yesterday and put the interior harness on a "DIET" lol. basically all i did was remove/de pinn all the un needed wire like rear defroster, 3rd brake like etc.

pic monday for sure

ding ding ding on the dp26. we spray diamont, for the money i dont think theres anything comparable out there.

not much as far as body/paint update, the 1/4 will be finished by one of my body guys over the weekend. i have been busy cleaning up the interior wiring, going to remove all the rear interior brackets that i will no longer be useing. also going to tuck the interior chassic harness and complete respray in kawasaki lime green.

Not really feeling the plain looking valve cover, otherwise the car looks mint and great job with the body work.

Nice to see some serious attention to detail.

I guess whatever colour you decide to paint the car, the valve cover could be colour-matched or something with a nice contrast.

its update time, theres quite a bit. we pretty much completely stripped the car down to the dash wiring harness and engine so i can still move it around fairly easy. doors, fenders, hood, bumper, headlights, sunroof etc. enough chit chat on to the pics:

gutted inside coloum and dash harness is all that left:

stripped except engine bay:

i figured bins to organize would be a great idea:

door off ready to remove all the trim stuff:

one door completely stripped:-bleeder checking in on the build, he has been a big help so far

scraped up the seam sealer because i wanted it a little cleaner:

then i hit it with a cookie grinder, im gonna use 3m 5808 seam sealer before i paint:

last coat of aircraft stripper, this is way more productive than sanding and a LOT cleaner:

all done, need to sand with 220 and a few good coats of primer then its time to block sand:

got the roof fixed with a thin coat of bondo, needs a coat of glaze and some primer:

finally got the 1/4 done, aftermarket cover fits like OEM and i saved 170 buck!!!!:
