First off this is the first time I have ever painted a car. I printed off the "how too" guide from the faq.
Now for my problem, I prepped the car and got it primed then did the guide coat with some regular black spray paint (light mist on the car yet enough to see), now my problem is that I was unsure if the entire guide coat had to be sanded off, stupid me thought I would be ok not sanding everything off and now there are some slightly darker "streaks" in the base coat from the black paint.
My question is can I put more coats of base color to make them "go away" or am I screwed and need to sand the car down again and basically start over?
Any input will be appreciated.

The remaining guide coat indicates low spots, and those should have been fixed before painting.
You can still wet sand and buff it out, but more than likely all those areas will show in the body work as low spots.

so you put base coat over the guide coat? yes that should have been used for highs and lows only. you had to sand it all off, repair, primer...
I'm no expert but thats what i would have done.
