Default primer

What brand of primer does everyone use? How do you choose your primer?

much like anything else... you choose primer according to what you're trying to do with it, what you need it for, how much you want to spend.

I was also wondering if anyone can tell in the pic what kind of paint that is on the bay.

the shop told me it was only a primer. which i believe is like a under hood white primer type?? If anyone could help me out. It would greatly be appreciated.

heres a pic of the bay ill have to try to get some better ones. looks as it might be a one stage. maybe a enamel sealer? does that leave a gloss?

i doubt its primer. its probably base and clear binder mixed.
that finish 1 is a decent shop line. ive used finish 1 clear on alot of brackets and small metal parts under my hood.

i've used finish1 clear on my engine bay. been a year. doesnt seem like anythings wrong with it so far. but of course, we all know under the hood, there is not much exposure to the elements, so i couldnt really say how well its held up. still looks good though
