I used the same color and it came out exactly like yours, I used the Medal Cast Ground Coat and did everything like you are suppose to and it came out more of a red ish purple and I wanted it to be more of a blue ish purple.

That looks fantastic, and will look even better once painted. What did you use to fill it in?
Also, here's my early stage B20 cover project.
And here's a better picture somewhat of my first cover that I ever did.
Dupli-Color high temp white and clear, and used metal etching primer.

I've done a couple valve covers on here, like the chameleon paint on, and the midori green valve cover, this was a redo on the midori one. hope you guys like it.

Thanks I Just used bog haha. A few people think it wont work and will get too hot and crack but others think it will work fine. Nobody had actually done it before so I thought I would give it a go and find out if it will hold up.

is this sanded down to bare metal with clear on top of that? it's a cool idea, but what was the last sand paper you sanded with? you can see a lot of the sand marks...maybe going a higher grit would make it look smoother

yeah staging down with sand papers and finishing with a rubbing/polishing compound with power ball or something would bring about a flawless shine but personally I like the cuts. the "brushed" look is ill.

u do it with sandpaper, from 600 to 800 to 1000 to 1200 to 1600 to 2000, and take really really long on each paper.
