MAACO?
So I have a a 94 coupe thats black, needs to be re-painted, nothing wrong majorly just that 16 year old paint is dull. Its not a show car and it will be driven everyday so I understand its gonna get scratched up again, so with that being said is Maaco a good way to get a DECENT paint job thats cheap? Anybody with personal experiance? I want it Type R black, M3 steel grey or this dark dark grey that comes on Dodge pick ups. Any thoughts?
Actually, I have a friend who had an 94 Mustang painted.
Body work with paint paid $800.
Dents are still in it, the spoiler was not properly bondo'ed and painted.
Stress cracks on the front bumper.
Plus 1 coat of clearcoat. It was definately NOT worth it.
Sand, primer and tape off your own car and you will save money.
Get the paint and a reputable paint shop to paint it.

Each Maaco is individually owned, so you will get different results at each one. My friend had his painted at a Maaco in Seattle, and it turned out horibble.
Mine was done in Bellingham, Wa. and turned out flawless. Still looks excellent, no drips, shrink back, etc. It's a very broad statement to say EVERY Maaco is the same and does a poor job. The local Maaco is very reputable, the owner of an amazing local shop purchased this particular Maaco strictly because of the large name recognition. He runs it just as respectable as his other shop.
