Default looking for advice

Well i just bought a new civic and it has all these weird little rust spots all over the door and around the rear window. What i was thinking was just masking off these areas , sand it down with some 400 grit , Spraying it with some white duplicolour primer , then hitting it with some duplicolour frost white and some clear. What do you guys think ? Any input would be apreciated [IMG][/IMG]

it wouldnt match unless you sprayed the panel/blended into other panels but it would work...

ya it is common for white cars have those, they are from rail road and break particles, over time it goes through paint and rust out through years, the rust is actually bigger under teh paint, so im guessing its probably little bit bigger than a .25$ but im not sure how u fix that im sure someone here knows how to do it, research some other thread on here, i been searching for paint job, im doing it check my thread if u like $50 paint job accord 96 some like that

Im not looking for something perfect , im just looking to cover up these spots so that there not as noticeable and to stop the rust from spreading . Should that do the trick though ? Or do you think ill see the rust start to peek back through in a months time lol

if u just want the rust go away, ok here is wat i WOULD do but research for more ideas

1: tape around like 2 inch square out side of rust area,

2; sand wit 80 grit, down so there is NO RUST, or else it would kept coming back,

3: if there is a dent bondo if no spray primer in a small cup and apply on with a cheap foam brush, wet sand it wit 400,

4; mask around the painting area wit paper like all around use trash bags, light coat it wit white paint, best match u can find, LIGHT coat, about 2 of them,

5; u can clear coat it if u want but dont needed, remember all those coats NEED TO BE LIGTH include teh primer,

6: wet sand wit 1000- then 2000 grit and polish it, just cheap turtle polish compound and wax it TADA UR done!

that is the right way, if u jsut want cheap way, sand it down like all the way down, then get SMALL bottle of rustoleum paint, not spray, and use a tiny foam brush it on, still light tho, its like 4 bucks for a computer mouse size can, small one, it stops rust where it contact, or just repaint ur car like mine, ill write out a direction for u or refer u to another thread does a good job, pm me or reply on my built thread ill check it
