Its one of those things where if you have to ask, you prolli shouldn't do it.
After you chop the top your gonna have to pie cut all the pillars to the correct angle to get everything to line back up. I've never done it and I prolli never will, they get pretty complicated trying to line everything back up

Re: how hard to do a choptop
Chop tops are awesome. Takes some serious skill and patience to pull it off good. My friend did one in an s10 blazer. Two door model but still had 6 panels of glass. Helped him pull tha glass out. Weekend job to do that. Chopped down 3". Sent the glass to a glass shop. Took them about 3 weeks to cut it down. But in that time we had braced up. The body and cut 95% of the metal to bring it down 3". Glass shop charged about 700 to cut it down and bevel the edges for a clean fit.
Ddepends if you really wanted to do it, how deep your pockets are, and your patience level. Also sedan or coupe?

I always thought a CB Accord coupe would look better with an inch or two off the top. However unlike earlier cars chopping a later uni-body car has several challenges of their own. That combined with the curved glass and door seals it might be a bigger PITA than its worth. Check out the jalopy journal and look up chop tops. It'll give you an idea of whats involved. Probably the easiest for the front would be to drop that whole section rather than chopping the glass..
What year Accord were you thinking of chopping?
Another option may be to look into replacing the roof of the Accord with a different cars roof structure. IIRC Preludes have a more laid back windshield. Maybe a Lude roof on an Accord?

Re: how hard to do a choptop
it seesms like a **** load of skillful work to me. cutting wouldnt be too hard, but you will have to angle everything down or get a bigger roof to make everything fit. i strongly encourage you to do it and post some pics though! i think it would look pretty good.
ps.. crazymikey, you're not funny. you're just trying too hard.

I had a buddy who had a burnt orange ek hatch chopped. Won a lot of awards (Nopi 2001) Endless hours spent on it. One thing he never did and you might want to consider is windows. His windows never went up all the way.

I'm about to pimp yo ride.
Cutting the roof off of a unibody vehicle is asking for major trouble. Welded back or not... I wouldn't do it. Not that you're going to anyway... So I'm not sure why I even replied.

Re: how hard to do a choptop
To do a unibody chop top would take tons of labor. The entire chassis needs to be braced by welding in support bars.
For example I cut from the passenger side to the drivers side with the car jacked up and the cut turned into a 2 inch gap. This is because the entire car including the roof is the support structure. This was a 90 Accord 4 door. I was cutting out the quarter panel FYI.
