engine paint..
I don't like to use regular paint on engines. The heat causes the paint to lift and blister. I like Alvin Products line of high temperature paint. If you clean your work surface thoroughly and use Alvin Products zinc dust primer under the color coat you will have a long lasting paint job. Zinc dust primer helps the color coat stay on aluminum surfaces. Military Spec aluminum surface primers are also excellent but costly.

What ever product you choose please prepare your work surface! I like to use a round wire drill attachment to clean the surface and reach into the corners and cracks then degrease my work area with acetone in a spray bottle. Dupont's Prep-Sol works great too.

I used an aluminum tone on mine to replicate the factory look.. Here are some options for that color.
As stated Seymour has a couple quality paints that will do the trick! I've used alumi-blast on some engine accessories, and loved the results!
Shiny Aluminum (paint I used for engine accessories):

For the Block/Tranny Casing you'll probably want a dull aluminum hue. Seymour makes a paint for that as well. I'll be using DEI paint for that. I've seen numerous high quality builds use that paint.. It looks near flawless.
