Ive not personally used it but from what Ive seen from my friends that use it the paint is decent but the clear sucks. not to mention it smells horrible, i would use the paint and get a good clear. Make sure the prep work is done right.

Re: dupli color paint shop
that is what i have read on anthonythomas.com... duplicolor even says in their forums that u will use alot of their clear and that a alternative is sherwin-williams lacquer based clear.... i am useing their bg900 gray primer with the bsp201 champ white with one layer of a 50/50 mix of the bsp300 clear and the bsp301 metallic clear just so it gives it some pop to separate it from the rest of the champ white hondas floating around... i plan on getting a few pints of the serwin-williams clear to finish it off... does any one else have any experience with this paint???

I've seen the stuff at AutoZone but I'll pass on that.. you can get good single stage paints in a whole gallon for the price those Duplicolor cost... It's pre mixed yeah but that means it's less product you get for the money... Most paint places will tell you how to mix the paints, give you measuring cups, stir sticks, strainers and all.. I rather do a single stage SATA then use Duplicolor ones...

I tried their primer on my car and I didnt like it. I don't know if i got a bad batch or what but it was like spraying water it was so thin. The body man at the garage i work at said he can get U-TEC 200 which is a single stage enamel paint for maybe 10 to 20 dollars a gallon higher and I've sprayed it and it is probably the best flowing paint I've sprayed.

i was thinking about using it too.. did some research. people said it doesnt last long especially if your car sees rain, snow, or any of the above.. better off spending a little more getting better paint doing it once instead of a couple times. but i have never used it. thats just what all my research summed up
"The pros are saying, lacquer in any form made by anyone at any price IS INFERIOR and there are cheaper alternatives with lower line materials that will give you better results..."

Re: dupli color paint shop
im in the process of using it right now, first of all the clear is junk I couldnt even tell it was on there after I used it. So im going to be redoing it with automotive clear but duplicolor as a base. Second reason for redoing it after I mixed up all the chunks in the bottom it kept spitting chunks onto my paintjob! needless to say I was pissed cause it only takes one little spurt of "chunks" to ruin the whole day.
I enjoy working on my own car but I would never be body man as a living jeesh. lol

Amen to that. If youre wanting to save money and still get a good finish i bought a gallon of U-tec 200 single stage in milano red, a gallon of reducer, and a quart of activator for 282.17. its half the cost of base coat clear coat and i cant tell the difference when sprayed
